Butler, Republican, in the 1st, and Maynard, Republican, in the 2nd district, dis-trict, are probably elected. Nothing is heard to indicate the result in the 3rd district. aiiriiitfuu. Detroit, The returns come in slowly, owing to storms and bad roads. The Republican State ticket is elected by 20,000. Waldron, Republican, is elected lo Congress from tho 1st district dis-trict by 1,000 to 1,200 ; 'Stockton, Republican, Re-publican, from the 2nd, by 3,000 to 4,000 ; Blair, Republican, from the 3rd, by 2,500 to 3,000; Ferry, Republican, from the 4th, by 8,000 to 10,000 ; and Conger, Republican, i'rem the Oth, by less than 500. Sutherland, Democrat, in the Oth, defeats Biiggs by 2,000 and upwards. The Republicans in the Legislature Leg-islature have a majority on joint ballot of about forty, insuring a United States Senator. MiNftOlll'i. St. Louis, y. Unofficial returnn in this county, with the exception of three precincts, give Brown 15,125, Mc-Clurg Mc-Clurg 41-19. The remaining precincts will probably increase Brown's majority major-ity to 15,000. Wells' majority for Congtess is 800 to 1000. The Congressional Con-gressional delegation stands : 1st district, dis-trict, Wells, Democrat; 2d, Finklen-burg, Finklen-burg, Liberal; 3d, McCormick, Democrat; Demo-crat; 4th, Gilmore, Liberal; 5th, Bur-dett, Bur-dett, regular Repuoliean; Cth, Cum-mings, Cum-mings, Democrat; 7th, Parker, regular Republican; 8th, Blair; 0th, King, Democrat. Illinois. Chicago, 9. The result of the election elec-tion in this State, as far as known, shows the election of the Republican ticket and the candidate for Congress at large. The Republicans claim the Legislature by twenty on joint ballot. The Democrats gain a Congressman in the 8th district, Robinson, Democrat, being elected by 1200 majority over Merriam. Ingersol, Republican, is defeated in the 5th district by Stephens, Democrat, by about 1,000. The Democrats also claim the election of Hartzell, in the 12th district, over Hay, the sitting member. The 4th district is so close it will take an official count to decide. The 7th district is abo close, but the Democrats are hopeful of the election of Hunter over Moore, the present member. Nevada. San Francisco, '.'.Nevada is still in doubt. The election of Bradley, Democrat, Dem-ocrat, fir Governor, is conceded. Fitch, Republican, for Congress, carried the State by a small majority. The Republican Re-publican State ticket, with the exception excep-tion of the Governor, is probably elected. |
