Since his return I he has been gradually growing feebler. Wilson Shaffer, Governor! of Utah Territory, died this morning; at fifteen minutes past five o'clock.! We have lost an able and efficient! Executive, the nation a states-j man, soldier and patriot, and mankind, a ripe scholar, possessing all thej acquirements and qualities e.-sen-i tial to true greatness, conpled with immaculate im-maculate integrity. Utterly unselfish, generous and high-minded, he was ever the friend of the weak and the oppressed. "Aroi sibi sed patriot' was his motto, and in it we have n true index to his character. I I respectfully request you to close! your places of business on to-morrow, j and to unite in paying the last tad j tributes to the cherished memory and mortal remains of our departed Governor.
