OFFICII: No. Ui"i Sansome Street, SAN FRANCISCO, CAL. Incorporated JSOi). The Pacific Pneumatic Gas Company Compa-ny is prepared to contract with gentlemen gentle-men residing in Utah Territory and adjacent States, to erect gas works at their residences, and give them every advantage in-light, which inhabitants of large cities possess, at less rate than coal-gas companies charge iu this State. Also, to contract with hotel proprietors, proprie-tors, saloon and store-keepers, trustees of churches, principals of schools and colleges, aud mining, manufacturing and railroad companies, to give them a far more brilliant light than can be obtained ob-tained from coal-oil lamp.-,, at less cost in proportion to the light given. - ECONOMICAL GAS FOR COUNTRY TOWNS. The great cost of making, on a small scale, coal gas, passably free from impurities, im-purities, has prevented the introduction introduc-tion of this prime convenience of modern times into small towns, and the' generally bad quality and high price of the production, where coal-gas works have been erected, in other than the Iffrge.-t cities, have limited the eon-sumption eon-sumption to less than one-half what it would be if the gas were good and furnished fur-nished as cheap a light as kerosene oil. When gas of fair quality can be manufactured with inexpensive works, and at a reasonable price, every little town, with even one well-built street, will have its gas work, and the profit; of the manufacturers will be more certain cer-tain and more liberal than those now earned by most country gas companies. The scientific and general press have repeatedly called attention to the field for di-eovery opened' to inventor; in solving the que-tiiej. "What shall we do tor a -.ili; iignt. more satisfactory than oil. and s., cb- ap that the jwiorcst can Us) it '.1' Many solutioni of this question have been proposed, but hitherto experience has shown that all were inferior, for m.uip cau--o or other, when brought int" practice, to the old method of generating illuminating gas. Th Pacific Pneumatic Gas Company, Com-pany, however, claims to have answered an-swered the question fully, and is prepared pre-pared to erect woiks which will furnish fur-nish gas, fiee from all impurities aud superior in brilli incy to the best coal gas, at from one-third to one-fourth the cost at which, in ibis Slate, coal gn, in quantities of from ',OoO to L'o.iVO cubic feet per day, can be made. The principle of these works lor small towns, is the same that Used incur domestic works; the difference is in the method of compressing the atmosphere, and of charging it with the vapors of paolene. In works for towns a rotary air pump, driven by a small bteam engine, or other steady motive power, forces the air tin -uioh the gasolene, making an excessively rich gas. This i" collected into a gasholder, gas-holder, and then, by the admission of air direct from the pump, il is diluted in the proportions of one, two or throe parts of atmosphere to one of gas, as in the judgment of the operator, guided guid-ed by a test-light, may lie desirable to bring the contents to the desired quality. The Pacific Pneumatic Gas Company Com-pany has erected works on this principle prin-ciple at Mare Island, for the United Suites ' Navy l'epartuiont, which arc producing excellent gas at au i.rtra-ortl'iittnj i.rtra-ortl'iittnj oic figure. Gentlemen who propose investing in any g is company for supplying interior towns, are requested re-quested to call iijioii the officers of the Pacific Pneumatic Gas Company, who will furnish accurate anil detailed accounts ac-counts of tho results obtained, and no company parties meaning business to Mare Island, for the purpose of showing show-ing the works in operation. - 77o' J n ific itriimit(c G'o.s tutioii r,itfjrant'tx the. surges of its pus forks.
