Show I HORSE HEAVEN TREASURES i I Project to Open Them by Means of aLong a-Long Tunnel The Heralds Marysvale correspondent correspond-ent yesterday mentioned the fact that C L Dignowlty of this city had been in that comp and that he was Inaugurating Inaugur-ating a tnnnel scheme that was destined des-tined to disclose the vast bodies of mineral supposed to be concealed within with-in the bosom of Horse Heaven a few miles abdve Marvsvale Mr Dignowlty returned home Thurs day and when seen by a representative of this paper yesterday stated that the report was correct and that a company shortly to be organized by himself and eastern capitalists would soon start the enterprise in motion In 1896 Mr Dignowity made a location loca-tion of a group of ten claims in the Horse Heaven country embracing an extension of the Wedge ledge the Dalton Dal-ton vein and several other chutes of mineral that cut through that section besides which he locate a timnpl Itp In Two Mile creek and a mill site near I the junction Of the Bullion canyon stream with the Sevier river i being the Intention t tunnel into the heart of the mountain in which Horse Heaven is situated for the purpose of uncover ing at depth the ledges that show so plainly on the surface above This tunnel will be about 600 feet in i length and i is estimated that the ore zones will be encountered at fJ vertical depth of about 500 feet at which depth I I It ha been predicted by geologists and mining men the ore bodies would be I I larger and richer than the surface showlnsrs would indicate At the millsite It is proposed to install I in-stall an electric plant and the waters I of the creek will b harnessed for the purpose of furnishing power for the operation of machine drills in the driv ing of the tunnel besides which it is I Ithe Intention to utilize the electric fluid in the mechanical tuld ecbanlcl operations perr taming to the proposed mill which I whic I will be erected when the tunnel has encountered the ore bodies as it is confidently believed l it will do I The ledges on the surface are about five feet in width and the ore Is high I in grade while the surface showing on the other veins Is all Iu that could be desired I de-sired and if the theory advanced proves to be correct there is no doubt but that the enterprise will be eminently emi-nently successful Contrcts for the driving of the tunnel tun-nel will be let within the next few days i being the intention to let out the work by the 100 feet at a time un til the power plant Is installed and in working order when the company soon to be formed win take < hnrnA and continue the work with power i drills The claims embracing the group located lo-cated by Mr Dignowlty are covered with heavy forests of pine timber and some of the trees will measure from three to four feet in diameter while I abundance sparkling spring water whie This is a gigantic enterprise but I when successfully consumated will do more in the way of proving the extent and permanency of the ore deposits I of the camp than anything that has been done as yet in that locality I |
