Show THE LAWN PARTY AT THE LOWE RESIDENCE ti T > y 1 1 1rT iZ l ed z I JFIiiIij LJ1I ii 1 I > 1fq I fr L k i j I I L r u1I1I I 1 4 1 The most brilliant affair of the early summer was the lawn party given last evening bv Mr and Mrs George A Lowe and Miss Lowe in honor of their guest Miss Cone of Hartford Conn The interior of the house was beautifully beauti-fully decorated the flowers used in the dining room being roses palms and ferns Here Mrs Lowe assisted by Mrs Justice Miss Lowe and Miss Cone welcomed their guests Mrs Lowe wore a very handsome gown of crimson satin veiled In black net Miss Lowes gown was of white silk and mousseline de J sole while Miss Cone wore a beautiful combination of white brocade rose colored satin and mousseline de sole The drawing room was In pink the table being decorated in La France roses and lighted by a candelabra of chosen colors and was presided over by Mrs Forbes and Mrs Egbert Roberts Outside the grounds were brilliantly lighted by many colored electric lights fairy lamps and Japanese lanterns Cozy corners and nooks were arranged beneath the trees and on the broad verandas while in the center of the lawn a large dancing floor was laid which was lighted by rows of electric I I lights extending around the sides and 1 down the center and decorated little I festoons of the nation colors Atone At-one side was stationed a full orchestra I which rendered a delightful programme of dance music throughout the evening I I The affair was one of the largest of its kind ever given here The grounds were crowded the entire evening it being be-ing long past midnight before the last guest had departed |
