Show PLEASED WITH TH DETER W B Andrew Returns From a Visit to Tuscarora Gold Fields W B Andrew of this city who Is well up In mining matters returned Tuesday evening from a visit to the promising gold camp of Tuscarora Xev where he remained for several days engaged in an inspection ofthe leading properties of the district In speaking of the Dexter which is largely owned by Salt Lake people Mr Andrew stated that while he did not make an examination of the underground I under-ground workings of this property he I was satisfied that It had a bright and successful future in store for It as he r had every reason to believe that the new strike recently reported was a I most Important one and added much to the value of the mine According to all accounts this recent discovery which was made In the new workings called the Parsons shaft a ter Superintendent Parsons under whose efficient management and direction I I direc-tion the splendid find was made comprises I com-prises i foot of very high grade ore four feet of ore that will carry gold values of from J40 to 100 arid ten feet of good milling ore and the Inch I ej V V = 1 f cations are tha this fine chute of ore I goes to the deepV V At the present time a station Is being cut at the 150foot level use nueau i being to drift on tth vein i while the track has been changed from the old shaft to the mill to connect t tie new workings with the reduction works and now the plant Is running on high grade ore again which it haS notbeen able to do since the recent burning of the hoist at shaft No4 The cyanide mill has also been inactive in-active operation on the old tailings on the other side of the valley These however have now vale nearly all worked out and it is more than likely that the plant will soon be removed from its present site to the tailings at the mill at the Dexter mine The Young America Eastvwhch adjoins ad-joins the Dexter on the east is held under lease and bond by Mr Andrew and his associates This property is being developed in f thorough manner man-ner a new shaft having been5begun which was sunk to a depth of 90 feet to the footwall of the ledge At this point a crosscut has been started which has already cut through 17 feet t of selvage in the vein and it is ex i j pected unless a fault or t > reak occurs 1 that the rich pay streak will be encountered I en-countered within 30 feet more when in all probability the value of the property prop-erty will be determined to a certain extent Mr Andrew states that the success I attendant upon the operation of the I Dexter and the work that is being done in the development of other properties prop-erties in that locality is giving more life and activity to this famous old camp than has been witnessed there 1 for several years past and that the town is feeling the beneficial effects of I having In its midst a paying and pro clueing mine the pay roll alone of Ism ihu r1 I which is enthusing new life into the channels of trade In that section of country seclon II |
