Onuse Other News Around the State Offices The meeting of the state board of land commissioners yesterday afternoon after-noon was a lengthy one the members remaining in session until nearly 7 oclock There was considerable business done although not as much as might have been expected from so lengthy a sitting Qui Nebekers request to lease grazing lands in Rich county amounting amount-ing to four townships was tabled on account of the board having no forms maps and piats When the printing is completed it will be taken up and passed upon The board opened bids and awarded contracts for printing maps and plats yesterday The Utah Lithographing company was the successful bidder their offer for 5000 large township maps being 75 even and for 15000 small maps 3750 This work will be pushed as rapidly a possible in order that the board may have a chance to get its work done up to date Mr A D Ferron of this city was appointed ap-pointed locator of lands at a compensation compen-sation of 4 per day and expenses His thgrough knowledge of the lands throughout the state made him avery desirable man to select lands for the commonwealth He has been in the employ of the government for many years and knows every foot of Utah from Cache to Washington counties Clerk Hendershot has completed the filing of the applications already made to the board and the following is a complete list I is bids for which will be opened on June 1 I is learned from other sources that there will be no difficulty in disposing of the bonds One house in the east has already ready said if the bonds were 4s it would take them all but the change will not be needed A banker of the city who is in close connection with the state offices told a Herald man yesterday afternoon that an offer better bet-ter than par
