Show mrs kennard passes away mrs joanna louisa gleason kennard wife of postmaster kennard of riverside boxelder Box elder county died at chase park cen treville thursday evening jan surrounded by all of the members of her family except mrs charles the cause of her death was cancer of the stomach abscess of tile the lungs 0 which terminated in gangrene she never know knew the nature or seriousness of her troubles and had full faith that she would recover she had bad a friend who died with witha a cancer and after that she had such an of tile the disease that her people never divulged tho the secret of her complaint to her the beginning of her troubles date bac back k a couple of years when one she received a bruise by alli alii in a ainest ailsto a pole or some si hilj clr oi the bruise thedo the dectar ctr said was the cause of the cancer about a year later she began to experience pain where the bruise had been this co continued l to gro groff worse until a couple of weeks weaks before christmas when she went to the holy cross hospital in salt lake city upon making an incision the doctors found the malignant n ra growth too far advanced to admit of a sue successful operation so ill all that could be done was to turn her over to careful nurses after she had been at the hospital three weeks at her request she was taken to chase park where she had everything n lier heart could desire and the very best of attention the end came cam e very peacefully the f funeral services wore were held in the farmington meeting n house sunday jan at noon jas T smith gave a brief sketch of I 1 her ier life elder junius F wells dr alcoser and bishop preached the funeral sermon the attendance was very large the procession that came up from centreville Cen centre treville ville was composed of nineteen vehicles and the one that followed the remains to the grave yard almost reached from the meeting house to the cemetery to ry floral offerings rings covered the casket some were worked into various shapes amon among 0 them being an anchor and a gate ate ajar mr fr jonathan wilcox who served in tho the civil war with mr kennard presented him with tile tho stars and stripes which were spread over tile casket before it was removed from the building g two of her sons and her three brothers were the pall bearers L forty IF 0 arty eight years ago the bp eleventh of last may mrs kennard was born borna at tET E T tooele thoele county utah being the daughter of john S and chase gleason at tile the a age ae e of two years vea rs she moved with her par bits to farmington where she resided all of her h or life except the t lie last ast year when she moved to riverside boxelder Box older elder co she was the mother of t thirteen children eleven of whom and lier her husband survive her |
