Show fOU O DEAD iN HIS WAGON DAY SADBERGS EXIT FROM TR GE OF LI I A Inquest i Be Held Today Indications Are That Death Was om Natural Causes John W Sandberg a Swedish dairyman living at Popperton in the head of Dry canyon two and onehal miles up from the city was found dead In his dairy wagon at 10 oclok yesterday morning the team having drawn him from the city to hs home where the discovery was made There are no irdicatons of foul play although an inquest will be held at 10 ocloclt this morning by Justice C n Stewart at the Jos Wni Taylor establishment estab-lishment the body having been brought down last evening to the undertakers Chief Pratt was notified of the death by a telephone message at 1 ocloel yesterday yes-terday morning and sent up the patrol with officers Armstrong Davies and Shannon Justice Stcwart went up later Ira Wood Sandbergs hled boy sail he saw the team come lp to the place about 10 ocloclt but the driver was not insight in-sight He heard groans coming from inside the covered wagon but did not look in thinking that Sandber was intoxicated intoxi-cated as he had been drInking heavily of late Wood unhitched the team and 11O0 I to the barn Ir Link a woman living at the house went to the WOfl t few minute later and discovered waon he was dead The body was warm and life must have just led since Wood Is quite positive he heard sounds issuing from the man when hc unhitched the horses HIs head was cons erably bruised lr Wood said but this was explained by the tat that he fell on the ice Sunday and 10 ceived some injuries At first It was be leved that his watch WS missing but last night Undertaker TaYlor said he found It in his clothes Sandberg left for the city at 30 Sunday afternoon and should have returned at 83 that night His absence over night was attributed ta his getting on a spree which he is said to lie in the habit of doing His wife came down on the streetcar at 830 this InOmn lag to hunt him up and returned aleut ten minutes after hit was found dead in the wagon The circumstances Indicated very clearly a case of Jcoholsm causing death There is nothing to Indicate foul play As to the bruIses on his head Mr Taylor any stated last nIght he failed to find anyAn Inquest will be held at 10 oclock this morning In charge of Justice Stewart 11 Sandben was 51 years or age and ness was fairly wel known in the dairy busi |
