Show INRAILWAY CIRCLES I Division Engineer Nickerson Steps Down and Out OTHER CHANGES INEVITABLE Belief tbat Superintendent Corwin Will Go and that a Local Han Will Succeed I Suc-ceed Him The belief that numerous changes among the Union Pacific officers in this city were to bo made as one of the results of the recent re-cent visit of Mr Dillon and others is growing grow-ing Just who will go and who will remain re-main what offices will be abolished and what retained will be given out within avery a-very short time now As a result of the spirit of economy however that is now permeating the management Division Engineer En-gineer Nickerson whose headquarters are I in this city has lost his head and hereafter I here-after the duties of that position will be I filled by J C OMelveny engineer of the Idaho division There is but little work now going on and as no new lines are to be built Mr OMelvony will be well able to hold down both positions Superintendent Corwin Will Also Vacate From unofficial sources it is learned that Superintendent Corwin of the Utah division divi-sion is also among those who will leave the employ of the road in a short time As to who will be his successor there is considerable con-siderable curiosity One man named W AV Riter who was succeeded by Corwin but those who know the exsuporintenaen t say the bonded debt of the railroad is scarcely large enough to induce him to again enter the service of the company That Corwins successor will bo a local lo-cal man there cannot bo the slighest doubt however and what more reasonable to suppose that ho will be selected from the ranKs of those who were prominen connected with the operation of the road before the consolidation took place Casting about for a man capable and in whose hands the position of trust might with safety be placed James Sharp looms up as the probable coming superintendent superin-tendent of the Utah division of the Oregon Short Lire Utah Northern It is known I that Mr Sharp accompanied Mr Dillon and party to Ogden at the urgent request of tho president and it is also learned that a very close and confidential conversation lasting a couple or more hours was had between the two |
