Show ALE OF THE GLENCOE A Rich Park City Property in a Sea of Trouble THE MARYSVALE BONANZAS I Eich Silver Gold and Copper Claims to Be Developed Over a Hundred Thousand Shares of Crescent Stock Sold for tho Assessment Assess-ment Tlio BullionBeck to StartUp Start-Up Tho Mammoth Report PARK CITY March 6 During the past week there were many rumors concerning concern-ing the closing down of the Glencoe property prop-erty A careful investigation elicited the fact that the men had not been paid off for six months and in order to seoure themselves they had placed their claims in the hands of Superintendent Curtis who went to Salt Lake to commence suit against the company The Utah and Nebraska Machinery company had previoulsy obtained a judgment judg-ment against the Glencoe company and under a decree of the court the property will be sold on the 24th inst It is a question ques-tion whether the miners hold a first lien on the property or not No blame can be attached to Superintendent Superin-tendent Curtis for the uufortunate state of affairs as he has used every means and expended considerable money to induce the eastern directors and stockholders to pay off the indebtedness They have continually con-tinually promised to arrange matters and have been delaying a settlement until patience pa-tience ceased to be a virtue and Mr Curtis was for the protection of himself and his men obliged to pursue the above course It is understood under-stood that some of the directors and stockholders are vrey wealthy men and it is indeed a strange fact that they could expect run a mine without the necessary means being furnished Mr Curtis is entitled to every sympathy as he has done all in his power to keep the work going on and it was owing to his influence that the men have remained so long without being remunerated re-munerated for their labor He has also made himself personally responsible for many of the claims against the company How the matter will be arranged is as yet difficult to determine but it is hoped that the directors will arrive at some satisfactory conclusion as the property is undoubtedly a rich one and with proper development could be soon made a good producer The leasers of the Gopher claim on Treasurer Hill have taken possession and have commenced operations The work of development will be done through the old tunnel and the boys are confident that they will soon strike a ledge of good ore ORE AND BULLION The Ontario mill shipped during the past week fortyone bars of bullion amounting to 23405 fins ounces of silver The Mackintosh sampler made the following fol-lowing shipments of ore Ontario 304 180 pounds Silver King 250380 pounds Anchor 254400 pounds Daly 211280 pounds Total 1020240 pounds THE ONTARIOS WOOD PILE A constant stream of wood teams could be seen going up Main street during the past week and on inquiry it was ascertained ascer-tained that the Ontario company had given orders that no more wood would be received after the 1st of March The company com-pany received over 2000 cords of wood during February and have sufficient on hand to meet all demands The work of refining the sulphides at the Marsac mill is now being done successfully suc-cessfully under the Dewey Walter process The new process gives great satisfaction to the mahagementand is said to be thorough thor-ough in every detail |
