Show AN ALLEGED FRAUD Serious Charges Against D Alexander His Creditors Say a Fraudulent Attempt Has Been lade to Meet Their Just De mandsA Receiver Asked In the Third district court yesterday suits aggregating 531234 were filed against D Alexander company proprietors of the Bee Hive store lately assigned Rice Stix St Co of St Louis fled suit demanding 39829 on account and this was followed by a suit for 721 filed by Butler Brothers of Chicago W S McCornick then filed a suit on notes aggregating 12000 and Burnham Hanna 4it Muuger of 5 > t Joseph Missouri demanded 111470 On top of all of these Mrs Julia Alexander Alexan-der filed a suit to recover 17000 on D note of hand and for the foreclosure of a chattel mortgage and the appointment of a receiver re-ceiver In the McCornick suit a chattel mortgage mort-gage given the bank by Alexander is asked ito i-to be made a portion of tbat claimed by Julia Alexander In all the suits Ben Sternman the assignee is made codefendant code-fendant and in the suit of Butler Brothers E H Parsons is made a party to the defense de-fense he setting up It is claimed a prior lien on the property in question Attachments were issued in all the suits and the Bee Hive stock is now hidden from sight by little sheets of paper bearing the marshals signature The total liabilities outside of the preferred pre-ferred creditors is 134700 and in all probability nothing proba-bility the unsecured creditors will secure In all of the suits fed by foreign creditors credi-tors D Alexander is charged witu rank fraud and the chattel mortgage given his wife as well as the assignment to Ben Sieinman is declared a fraudulent attempt to defeat the just demands of creditors Steinman is declared to have given no bond for the performance of his duties and it is set up that he is 0 resident of San Francisco and an impecunious intended aoninlaw of Alexanders who came herein here-in response to a telegram to take charge of the stock as assignee A temporary restraining re-straining orderlies been issued to provent Steinman from acting in any manner as assignee in the disposai of the stock until the application for the appointment of a receiver is heard |
