be the result if an epidemic should strike amongst its memfbers as the insurance is paid by assessment The A O U W has passed through two epidemics yelloV fever in 1878 and the grip ln1890 In the latter case nearly half a million dollars were required re-quired to give the necessary assistance assist-ance The sum was raised in ninety days and each member only had to pay 750 To guard against the ravages rav-ages of epidemic a relief law has I been passed giving a maximum assessment assess-ment rate to each jurisdiction but all jurisdictions are bound to aid each other and should ours comprising Utah Idaho and Montana Ije visited by an epidemic a contingent fund amounting to one mllllonxiollars could be raised to meet the demands ofour beneficiaries and maintain the crddit of our order Every border of a certificate cer-tificate for 2000 in the AO U W can rest assured that there is the guaranty of 334000 members at the back of it MAC |
