Show r FUNERAL SERVICES OF M EMILY j CLOWES The funeral services of Mrs Emily Clowes wore held in the Twentieth ward meetirig house at 430 p m Sunday that comm ious building beinc fled with friends of the deceased many of whom had come from various parts of the city out of respect to her memory The speakers on the occasion were Professor T B Lewis of Ogden and Messrs W C Dun bar Joseph E Taylor William Eddington and George Romney bishop of the ward Their remarks were particularly eulogistic of the departed ana consoling to the family and friends The deceased the past two years has been a confirmed invalid and much of that time she suffered intense pain Although strongly inclined to live and possessed of great hope inthat direction she at last succumbed suc-cumbed and awaited with resignation and anxiety the change and reliefideath was to bring Her life under most trying and painful circumstances was a triumph of faith in God and the world is indeed superlatively su-perlatively the better forher having lived in it Most fitly the beautiful and touching linesof Thomas Gray express the character charac-ter of Emily Clowes Full many I gem of purest ray serene The dark unfathomed caves of ocean bear Full many a flower isborn to blush unseen And waste its sweetness on the desert air |
