Show THE COMING CONVENTION The International Bauge Association Associa-tion Meeting The convention of the International Range Cattle Association will meet in this city on February 8th and it is expected ex-pected that the attendance of cattlemen cattle-men will be very large Information has been received from several of the States and Territories showing that the attendance willbe much larger than last year and it is expected that not a few delegates will be present from Mexico and British Columbia Pr Preparations making now for the proper receptibnof the delegates and visitors and we trust thatthe cattlemen cattle-men ofj Colorado will be present in large numbers Not only shoulq the people of Denver provide pro-vide entertainment for these visitors but also the cattlemen of the State should be here in large numbers so as to make use expression of welcome all the t stronger Ji comparatively speaking speak-ing only a few Colorado cattlemen should attend the convention it would appear to the visitors as though the Colorado then cared but little about them and took but Isttle interest in the work of the associatbn We have not the least doubt that there will be a large representation of cattle growers but we wish to lay emphasis upon the importance im-portance of bringing all the cattlemen in the State as far as possible to the convention It dees not matter much whether a man is a delegate or not He should come anyway Tnere will be many cattlemen present from outside of Colorado who will not be delegates Thoy appreciate the importance of tho work of the convention and so they will come in order that as cattlemen although not as delegates they may exert their influence The question of providing protection for range cattle against contagious diseases dis-eases is one to which doubtless the convention will give careful attention and consideration His a most important import-ant subject and it is possible that upon the worK of the convention may depend the safety of the cattle interests of tie range country This alone should draw hither a large number of cattlemen from all parts of Colorado Another subject upon which cattlemen cattle-men desire information is the scheme for the establishment of stock yards near St Louis This matter will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be fully discussed and it may be that the convention will take some action in regard to it It also is an important subject for even though our cattle should escape the ravage of Chicago pleuropneumouia they might still fall into the almost aqually dangerous dan-gerous clutches of the Chicago packers I and shippers Denver News |
