Show Urging a National Bankrupt Law WASHINGTON Nov IS President Harrl son was visited today by a committee of the National Convention of Commercial Bodies headed by Colonel Broadhead of Missouri u chairman and accompanied by Colonel Terry author of the Terry brnkrupt bill The committee laid before the President a copy of the proseedings of the National Convention of Commercial Bodies embodying embody-ing the Terry bankrupt bill and urged him to recommend in his forthcoming message to Congress the enactment bj that body of a uniform equitable bankrupt law and in the form submitted A number of addresses ad-dresses were made and in tho discussion which followed the President said he had always thought there had to be Permanent legislation on the subject of bankruptcy instead of a temporary law to relieve certain cer-tain unfortunates who had been affected by panic He promised the committee he would consider the question on recommending recom-mending legislation upon that subject to Congress in his message |
