Show SAMARIA The Young Malad Settlement Has Some Good Mineral Land Recently in company with Rev C J Godsman who is wideawake to the progress of this part of Idaho Mr H C Morris the contractor and builder of Samaria and Mr Hicks of the same place the editor of the Enterprise paid a visit to the new mining camp west of Samaria thres or four miles There is a good wagon road leading close up to the mountain and after leaving the wagon a short climb upwards up-wards of half a mile brings one to the shaft of the Morris Hicks mine which is about twentyfive feet deep following a twofoot vein of iron carbonate car-bonate ore with a welldefined ledge of quartz of about four feet in width that bears indication indi-cation of leading to mineral sometime This vein is in lime but in following follow-ing it for 4000 or 5000 feet we found it really to be a contact vein and undoubtedly un-doubtedly can be found rich at various points along its course On the south of this first claim comes the entry of Mr Tnomas which has a body of slate on its hanging wall and bears indication of being near a chimney of ore that will pay to work Next south comes the claim of Mr Jones 01 Samaria who is very much encouraged over his claim He has an iron carbonate carbon-ate vein and we believe has a very favorable chance to develop a good mine with a proper amount of work There is very much to encourage these parties to prosecute their work upon thejr claims vigorously and delve into the mountain where undoubtedly lies stored immense quantities of good pay oie Territorial Enterprise |
