Show A Commission Case A complaint was made out yesterday in the Justices Court in a case which when settled will determine a question which has long been one of doubt Its i It-s one of those matters which have often been allowed to go without satisfaction to either parties concerned in order to keep out of publicity in the courts The complaint alleges that George H Knowlden and H N Greene a firm of real estate agents between the 10th of November 1881 and March 24th 1885 performed services for Henry J and Elizabeth A Hayward at their request as brokers that such services were reasonably worth 79 that the defendants defend-ants have not paid the same nor any part thereof etc The circumstances are in effect as follows The Haywards gave the brokers a certain piece of property into their hands to dispose of on commission Knowlden Greene in their regular course of business sought for a customer and found a man whom they informed the defendants defend-ants of and who made the purchase of the property direct from the principals thus depriving the brokers of their commission com-mission The amount claimed 79 is the commission earned by the brokers in their endeavors to effect a sale The result of this case will affect several real estate agents in this city who have been similarly treated by property owners |
