Show Brigham City Theatricals BBIQHAV CITY March 2Uh 1SSC To the Editor of THE HERALD Your townsman Mr P Margetts appears ap-pears of late years to have deflected somewhat from that position in the galaxy of local stars in which we were wont to know him He has of late studied up and played with great success suc-cess the part made immortal through the personation thereof by the great Couldock Luke Fielding in The Wil low Copse His first essay in that character char-acter was the fine new theatre at Provo where the gentlemans ability was so marked that he was recently requested to visit Brignam City with the same ob ject in view He accordingly after considerable preparation produced Couldocks masterpiece here on Satur day the 20th inst the house bemg so thoroughly overcrowded that many who could not ob tain admission and some who did demanded a repetiti n This repetition was acceded ac-ceded to and Monday night fie piTce was again presented tea jammed house It detracts nothing from Mr Margetts reputation to sav that his first nights presentation was for the benefit of his oldtime friend and oar citizen Mr H E Bowring whose satisfaction at the result financially had artL artistically considered = con-sidered was complete After the performance i per-formance Mr and Mrs E H Pierce invited the dramatic company to spend the evening with them which they did and a more happifying harmonious or agreeable time had rarely been enjoyed anywhere The following ladies and gentlemen were invited and participated V Mar etts Mr and Mrs H E Bow rnS Mr and Mrs A H Snow Misses Ettie Madson Annie Gregorsen Amelia 3rjehl Martha Wright Messrs EA Box A E Snow J3 McMaster Alex Baird D f Burt M M Faulkner Faulk-ner p Baird and T H Blackburn Of Mrs E H Pierce who personated Rose under the tutelage of Mr Mar getts the highest words of praise are spoken X Y Z I |
