Show Day Nursery Concert and Ball 1 Jr audience which assembled at the Opera House last evening was distinguished distin-guished rather for its select character than its numbers The affair wcs rushed ahead in too great a hurry and it is to be feared that if any fancy prices were paid a he artiste th Orphans Home will come out but slightly ahesd on the benefit A concert of several number was rendered with excellent taste the principal feature being the Vocal selection with tambourine and castanet accomp miment rendered ren-dered by fourteen young ladies 1 directed by Mr B B Yot n 1 t was repeated on a laud recall The piano solo by Mr McIntyre wtih accompaniment ac-companiment by Prof Titus orchestra directed by Prof Kroust wi s aso a clever achievement Mr Veihe played a solo and was loudly applauded though we have heard him play in stricter time Jiggave the Last Hose of Summer for an encore The dancing was only participated in by a lets and was kept up for some time after the close of the concert It is regrettable to have to state it of a cause which deg rves so well as the naH na-H me scheme < but all its entertainments entertain-ments seem to far short of the financial success they should achieve Why tbs should be so it is impossible to say bL tit t-it is a fact that the Home has never received re-ceived anything like the public support it should have done |
