Show r THE SAILED ADS The dispatch in another part of this issue in reference to railroad matters explains some ot the many rumors that have been afloat hereabouts herea-bouts during the past few months and will perhaps put a stop to some ot the stories now being circulated The Chicago Burlington and Quincy i and the Denver and Rio Grande have entered into an arrange nent whereby the former read is to be continued to Denver where it will connect with the lines of the latter virtually forming one company so far as a through line is concerned We have heard a good deal about the C B R Q building a line to Ogden the Central Pacific going east via Salt Lake City and Denver and eu oo I but the dispatoa provided it id correct cor-rect ought to stop all these stories and schemes The Denver and Rio Grande is undoubtedly going to Ogden or at least going to coonect with the Central Pacific which with the C B k Q east of Denver will make the through line to the Pacific in opposition to the Union Pacific This being the case it need not be expected that a third road from the east will touch Salt Lake nor is it reasonable to presume that the Central Pacific will go east paralleling par-alleling two roads The Union Pacific is going around the Central Pacific as fast fH possible running two roads to the Pacific one northwest north-west and the other southwest from its main line These with the roads mentioned are about nil the railroad building we are likely to have in this vicinity for some time with the exception ex-ception of the extension here and there or the construction of an occasional occa-sional branch of local roads |
