Show Alta Aid The Alta Relief Committee held a session at the Clift House parlor yesterday yes-terday afternoon and considered a number of applications from persons who euflered by the late disaster They also distributed as much money as possible to each of the persons applying ap-plying for relief Tbe money already raised is nearly all distributed but another meeting of the committee will be held at the same place and the same hour todaycommencing at 3 and closing at 5 pm A letter was yesterday received from Mrs La Porte widow of Frank La Porte one of the victims who was buried last week applying for relief and presenting good claims therefor Tbe committee has her claims under consideration and will do all in their power to aid the unfortunate lady and her family She is at present living at Calls Fort Each day brings forth fresh and convincing evidence that the distress caused by the disaster has been greatly underestimated and much more money than baa yet been raised could be judiciously distributed witb gocd results Mesbrs Culmer and Wfaitneyman agers of the Home Dramatic Club have placed in the hands of the relief re-lief committee a number of tickets for the performance tbis evening which will be distributed to the people peo-ple of Alta who are now in the city Chose who may deaire to witness tbe play can obtain tickets by calling on the chairman opposite thepostoffice this rooming |
