Show How i Is at St George ST GEORGE Jan I 1881 Editors Herald I Our holidays have passed ofl with unusual quiet social parties being tbe only thing to relieve tbo monotony monot-ony The most notable of these occurred oc-curred last evening at the Social Hall being of a leapyear nature and was withal a grand success Tbe committee the Muses Snow and Gardener are deserving of much credit for the tasteful manner in wbinh all was arranged The walls were decorated with pictures flags mottoes mirrors etc windows nicely lace curtained and bal well lighted At midnight a pair of mottoes covering the end of hal previously concealed by a large flag were exposed to view contain the words We Mourn Our Loss 1880 alluding to the ladies of course and A Happy New Year 1881 The ball continued till the first of the wee sma hours alter which over twentyflve couples adjourned ad-journed to the residence of President E Snow where a sumptuous repast was partaken of One fact note wortly toournorthern friendswas that there was no fire near the ball room and doors and windows were opened the whole evening Weather lovely health good diphtheria diph-theria checked Prospects for this years crops excellent DAZZLE |
