Show Theatre The Bankers Daughter was presented pre-sented for the EecDnd time last night to a large audience The piece at expected went off with greater ease and imootbness in many respects giving evidence of rehearsal and there was an ease about the whole that was quite gratifying Miss Colebrook and Mr Whitney showed great improvement im-provement and did finely Miss Clar idge was as anticipated better in the first part than she had been on tbe previous performance Mr Burton showed remarkable improvement and not only astonished his friends but doubtless himself with his better acting Messrs Wells Spencer and Cummings as well aa EvanpLeOlair Wilton Miss LeCUir and Miss Vincent cent all did en well bolero that there was little room for any improvement The whole performance in details unworthy of mention showed tbat the experience 01 Saturday night had been profitted by and the audience while not BO large was more spirited as was alto the music wbich was ex exceptionally refreshing Even Pique well as it was performed was surpassed by the rendition ofTbe Bankers Daughter This piece is not only more difficult but is capable of a much higher character of acting while it is far from being a popular It shows better than any other play rendered by the olub its ability and versatility and its rendition 13 the crowning success of all tbeir performances per-formances as being more consistent i true t nature and of a higher type |
