Show Belle Harris Miss Belle Harris who is now a prisoner at the Penitentiary sent thither by Judge Twiss for contempt con-tempt of court in the Second District Dis-trict in refusing to answer questions put to her by the grand jury of that district will be taken to Beaver towards the end of this month At that time the grand jury which caused her to be held in contempt by insisting on a reply to questions which she refused to give will again meet Judge Twiss gave the jury an almost unprecedentedly long vacation and then compelled the lady to be kept in the Penitentiary until they should meet again Of course when she reaches Beaver she will haVethe questions renewed and if she is the lady that her past course would lead pesple to believe she is she will again emphatically decline to respond Ibis is anticipated antic-ipated by the prosecution and it is a matter of common talk that efforts have been made to convince her that unless she does answer they will keep her in the Penitentiary forever Such a thing ia absurd I |
