Show I TH PARK CITY SMELTING COMPANY ANew SixtyTon Immediately Stack to ba Built The construction of the smelter at this place last l season was looked upon with much doubt a t its suc cess and profit by many of the m ing men of the territory While 1 Ferry was confident of its success suc-cess we hardly think he expected such quick justification of h foresight fore-sight and wisdom in first occupying the field ItS the development of the camp has furnished Nothing affords a much encouragement encour-agement to the prospector and miner a the surety that he can convert the product of the mines into money without requiring a journey t a distant point the payment of freight charges sampling commission and assays at a place where he may not know the ropes Wo are gratified to state that one of the results of the recent visit of the Director of the P C S Co is the adoption of the recommendation of Mr Ferry the manager that anew a-new stick be built and work has already al-ready been commenced It will b of the capacity of sixty tons or three times the size of the present one 1Ye have from Mr David Stringer the superintendent of the works the following memoranda ol its size Wroughthon water jackets of square shape 4 feet 6 inches by 3 feet having four tuyere on each side with two end tuyers Deck plate 3 inches thick in four sertinno with aiiicii rib along the centre supported by six iron pillars 12 inches in diameter The stack I from the deck plate up will be entirely en-tirely of brick bound by strong wrought iron binders Dust chamber connecting with both stacks will b 2x0x3 feet and will be a great economizer in saving dust and will obviate the objection to the fumes of the stack The whole design of the stack is made by M Stringer The Salt Lake Foundry and Machine Company Com-pany furnish the iron work and George T Durnford does the mason work Forty days will be necessary I Park to construct City Record and put in operation |
