Show tlTTLE COTTONWOOD The Outlook for the Incoming Season i I I is now thought by men whose experience places their opinions high J above the value of ordinary speculation that the present outlook in Little Cottonwood is more hopeful hope-ful than It has been at any time wit n the past five years The Flagstaff which has for many years been so crossly mismanaged a to cause serious injury to legitimate mining in Utah will it is promised be worked with energy coupled with that economy so necessary t insure success in anv business While the surface ore deposits have to a large extent been exhausted there is no reason t doubt that by the judicious expenditure of some means other bodies equally rich and extensive will be developed and if silver and lead retain their present market value large profits will undoubtedly iccrue to the new company On the Joab Lawrence Mine which at the time of the snowslides lat winter showed heavy reserves of pay ore operations will soon be resumed with a vigor characteristic of its owners The tramway will be > rebuilt ore houses will be erected and new machinery placed in posi tion No exploration for ore is necessary The ore bodies in sight at the time work was suspended are of ample dimensions to keep a large force of men employed in the work of extraction and a the snow has not yet begun to melt the mine is dry and in excellent shape for profitable development The Emma is also likely t be ac ively worked I is almost daily expected that the force at present employed will uncover one of those immense pockets the discovery of which once made the Emma stock so popular and profitable The indications I dications are certainly very flattering flatter-ing Other properties which are now idle from the effect of the snow slides or the destruction which they threatened will soon awake to the echo of the pick and hammer and productiveness be fully tested Such is the opinion of all mining operators who have the good fortune Ito I-to own property in Little Cottonwood Cotton-wood and while some money may be uselessly expended on a few of the smaller mines it is conscientiously conscien-tiously stated by those best qualified to judge that the profits from the ensuing seasons operations will bo J I larger than have been known since I the Emuia first went behind the cloud of public distrust 745 I |
