A SYNCHRO-SWIMMERS The Bounl if ul Sync h ro-nettes, ro-nettes, local synchronized synchro-nized swimming team won team honors and individual indi-vidual awards to give the local team the championship at the recent intermountam junior Olympic synchronized swimming championships held May 1 at the Bountiful Indoor Pool. THE GIRLS each competed in stunt competition, solo, duet and team events for total scores. Top winners in the team events in the 10 and under age group were both Bountiful A and B teams. Kristin Fadel. Kim Sjoberg, Lisa Sjoberg and Heidi Hasz made up the "A" learn. Members of the "B" team were Lori Whitear, Nancy Whitear, Kristen Twitchell and Deanna Wort ley. IN THE 11-12 team events. Bountiful was 1st with the team of Cheryl Rosengreen, Debbie Adams, Shannon Hummel, Cheryl Rohrer, Dale Ann Fisher and Kia Fadel. In the 13-14 age group it was Bountiful, with Ann Stout, Kathi Godfrey. Tammy Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Liz Manfull and Kathy Wurster making up the team. BOLNTIFUL'S 15-17 team was also first, with members Christine Manful, Heidi Hummel, Kami Jackson, Lynette Winter. Cheri Godfrey, Michelle Cheney and Rhonda Gillespie performing together. For the 18 and over, the team of Colleen Fisher, Dona Allen, Michelle Cheney, Rhonda Gillespie and Kathy Wurster copped first place. IN DUET competition, for the 10 and under girls, Kia Fadel and Kristen Fadel placed 1st; Lisa Sjoberg and Kim Sjoberg were 2nd followed by Lori Whitear and Nancy Whitear. Girls 15-17, Ronda Gillespie and Kathy Wurster took gold medal honors, followed by Heidi Hummel and Christine Manful. 2nd , and Cheri Godfrey and Kamie Jackson, 3rd. In the 18 and over. Colleen Fisher and Dona Allen placed 1st. FOR SOLO events. Bountiful Boun-tiful winners were Dale Ann Fisher. Kia Fadel. Kristin Fadel. Lisa Sjoberg. Kim Sjoberg and Heidi Hasz in the 10 and under age group. For the 11-12. Debbie Adams was 1st, Cheryl Rosengreen, 2nd; Cheryl Rohrer. 3rd and Shannon Hummel. 4th. KATHY Wurster was 1st in the girls 13-14 age group. Tantivy Madsen, 2nd; Kathi Godfrev, 3rd and Liz Manful. 4th. For the 15-17 ag? group. Michelle Cheney took top honors, followed by Ronda Gillespie and Christine Manful Man-ful For IK and over. Colleen Fisher was 1st followed by Dona Allen. IN STUNT competition, each swimmer must compete i in three specified and three I optional stunts, judged by five individual judges. 'Final tabulation gave Dale Ann Fisher 1st place in the 10 and under age group, with Kia Fadel. 2nd; Lisa Sjoberg, Kristin Fadel. Kim Sjoberg and Heidi Hasz. all placing in the top six. In the 11-12 age group, Cheryl Rosengreen was 1st; Debbie Adams, 2nd; Cheryl Rohrer. 3rd and Shannon Hummel, 4th. FOR 13-14 stunts, Kathy Wurster was 1st; Kathy Godfrey, 2nd; Tammy Madsen, Mad-sen, 3rd; Elizabeth Manful. 4th; Ann Stout, 5th and Donna Kopp, 6th. For 15-17, Michelle Cheney. 1st; Ronda Gillespie, 2nd; Kamie Jackson, 3rd; Chris Manful, 4th; Cheri Godfrey. 5th and Heidi Hummel, 6th. Eighteen and over. Colleen Fisher, 1st; with Dona Allen 1 placing second. ON MAY 28 and 29. the Bountiful Synchronettes will host the Region 10 Western Regional age group championships cham-pionships at the Bountiful Indoor In-door Pool. Competitors from five states. Utah, Colorado, New Mexico. Arizona and Texas have been invited to participate. Also included in the invitations are teams from Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota. Competition will begin at 9 a.m. on May 28 and last until 5 p.m. On the 29th ;1k schedule will be the same. Spectators are welcome and are urged to attend, rsp |
