Phillips gave up six hits in i winning the opener, did not walk anyone and struck out four batters. John Reva and Abeyta provided the offensive fireworks for Helper, the former getting a double and single, with the latter hitting two doubles and a home run. J i Helper is at home this weekend, entertaining Provo for two games Friday night at 6 p.m. and Payson for two more games Saturday start- e i ing at noon. l WBBA WBBA all-st- ar begin play all-sta-rs tournament action in the mqjor category, 11- - to will get underway Monday at Wellington and Duchesne for the first round of play. At Wellington Monday, Helper and Green River are matched for the 3 p.m. game. At 5 p.m., Price American will take on Price Central. In Duchesne, the first game at 3 p.m. will bring together Price i i National and Wellington National The second game will see the mountain bike course at the Butch Cassidy Blowout held this past weekend at Price. North Emery team goes to Western Regional contest HUNTINGTON- - A team of and players from Huntington, Cleveland and Elmo will take on Guam in the first round of the Pacific Western Regional Babe Ruth Bambino Baseball Tournament this week in Salt Lake 11- - City. The Emery North Bambino have spent the last two weeks in tournament play, fighting for the opportunity of All-sta- rs getting to the tournament which will include teams from Utah, California, Nevada and Guam The winner will advance to the Babe Ruth World Series in Missouri. To get to the tournament this week, Emery North had to d tourget through a nament in Salina and a second-roun- d tournament in first-roun- Nephi. In Salina, Emery North defeated Delta and lost to Gunnison to finish in second place. That put them in the next round where they played at Nephi last week, defeating 3 the South Emery in the first game, Kanab, in the second game, and in the semi-finRichfield, game. In the championship game last Saturday, Emery North had to play Richfield again and this time won Later that day, the team returned to Emery County and shared its championship with the residents of north Emery County as they rode on fire trucks with sirens blasting.
