Thank you. Dear Editor: On behalf of the local Emergency Medical Technician instructors, I would like to thank Art Yerby of P&F Service in Bluff for his generous donation of a wrecked car for the EMT class to use in a recent extrication class. We truly appreciate his towing the car to the location of our class on his day off. Some of you may have seen us practicing by the post office in Bluff. EMT Instructors and experienced EMTs set up situations in which EMTs take turns being the victims and rescuing the victims of simulated car accidents. The practice really helps new EMTs get a feel for what to expect when they are called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident. We also thank the Search and Rescue members who excame to give hands-o- n perience with extrication tools and safe methods of extrication. Again, thank you to everyone who made the day a successful experience. Kathy Carson Dear Editor: On behalf of the staff involved in taking the trip, we would like to thank Steve Czerkas at the Dinosaur Museum in Blanding for opening the museum and speaking to Bluff Elementary School students on a recent field trip. The Preschool and a Kindergarten and first grade class were on the trip. All of them thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Czerkas themselves. had an infinite amount of patience with our kids, who range in age from We planned a picnic that day, but as luck would have it, it' rained. The National Guard allowed us to eat our 3-- 7. lunches in their building and to look at the trucks, too. Thank you all very much for your hospitality. After lunch, Oliver Harris guided us to a spot where there is dinosaur bone embedded in rock. We had a short hike and there was a lot of excitement as children, parents, and teachers discovered bones. We would also like to thank all of the parents who were able to come with us that day. You helped a tremendous amount with the children and we appreciate it. Again, thank you to all of the people in the community who made our trip a very memorable one. Kathy Carson resignation of Diane Nielson as director of economic development. I wish city fathers good luck as they seek to replace the mayor and economic development director. Both Mayor Jack Young and Nielson leave big shoes to fill. I hope that both will return to public service in the future. INSTANT STORAGE! She was on her way to St. George, Utah, and had hitchhiked to Monticello, where she planned to catch a bus for the rest of the trip. What the woman failed to realize is that no busses run through Monticello. Sue Ann had the bank wire the money and encouraged the woman to open a savings account so she could access the money while living in Utah. But the woman still had a major problem - how to continue her trip. Sue Ann remembered that a truck was scheduled to leave town soon. She drove the woman to the office and persuaded the driver to let the woman ride to Green River, where she could catch a bus. U of U professor Scott Young promoted the idea of re- port.
