FORT WORTH, Tex., Jan. 1. The capture of Jim Moody, ' alias Jack Nil-so- n, alias Jack Neal, by Deputy United States Marshal Van. of Houston near Markham, in south Texas, a few days ago-- , recalls many desperate encounters peace officers of Texas have had with the Black Jack gang of train robbers, of which Moody has been erroneously Quoted as having been the leader. The ff.cts are, Moody was never leader of this notorious band of outlaws, but that honor, if honor it may be, belonged to sr4XKSK mexico sometmng une two years ago,- while Taylor is now employed on a Eheep ranch in the interior of Mexico. Moody, it is said, was a.t one time connected with the Dalton gang of desperadoes who depredated in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories. The Black Jack fang is practically no more; the only remaining member of it being Bill Taylor, who was considered one. of the most desperate daredevils of the band. He was always at the bead of every attack, and in his absence Tom Ketehum was delegated to lead the out laws.- The last train robbery accredit ed to this band was committed on the Colorado & Southern railroad between Trinidad and Texline, Tex., in which Ketehum was shot and badly wounded by Conductor Harrington. The wounded outlaw was captured after a few dasy' skirmishing through the moun tainous country in eastern New Mexico, and hanged. tried, convicted The TVells-Fare- o Express company, in conjunction wun tne ranroaa oniciais, determined to capture the gang if pos sible, and began a campaign against Alter repeated attempts of lexaa officials to run the members of the gang down. Bud Newman was finally cap tured. He turned State's evidence and, under instructions from the "Wells-Far-g- o Express company, started out, accompanied by his father, to capture Bill Taylor. They surprised him one day and "took him in." He was tried and found guilty, and given alife sentence in the State prison. While being held in JaiL at Brownwood he escaped. New man started out again to capture his former, pal, and came across him in the jungles near Sonora, Tex. Taylor dropped behind a large stone and opened fire on Newman, who also began shoot ing at Taylor. During the fusillade Taylor's thigh was broken and Newman was shot dead. jn ew . - - DUNSMUIR SOBER, DECLARES WITNESS -- liana ger of Company Testifies dent Presi- of Concern. "Was Always in. It makes one forget hi3 friends and become morose and irritable, lie is so wrapped up in his own misery that ho is Inconsiderate of every one else. Relieved of this depressing and ailment he again becomes a good fellow and a man among men. Stuarfs Dyspepsia Tablets are beyond question the most effective and popular remedy ever offered to the sufferers of this terrible disease. The thousands and thousands of cures they have brought about and the enormous increase or their sales fully attest the truth of this statement. They are, above all, a natural -- emedy. They possess exactly tho same properties that the gastric juices and other 'digestive fluids of the stomach possess, and they actually do the digestive work of the stomach and enable that organ to rest and recuperate and become, sound and well. They act in a mild, natural manner and cause no disturbance of the digestive organs. They prevent the fermentation of the food which causes sour stomach. In fact, under their influence the subject forgets that he has a stomach and his resulting cheerfulness presents a great contrast to his former dejection. Millions of boxes of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets are sold annually and they are fbut in the dawn of their popularity. Every mail brings letters of thanksgiving from grateful ones who have been cured of this terrible disease. The following Is one ' , of hundreds received each week: Rev. J. R. Uoag ot Wymore, Neb., writes: "Fcr Bix years I have been troubled with dyspepsia. Last fall I became very much alarmed at some symptoms of heart troub.e and came to believe there was a sympathetic relation between the two disease, or that the stomach trouLl. was the rather, causff of the heart disturbances. I hit upon Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets for a remedy, and Invested a dollar and a half for three boxes, which lasted me three months, and I can eat any kind of food I want and have a Rood, vigorous appetite. Although I am 77 years old. I now feel perfectly well and, without being requested by anyone, X make this statement as a compliment to the virtues of Stuart's .Dyspepsia Tablets." 3,641.00 3,634.10 6.141.60 2,95t.83 sac. 99 5,677 0) 1,902. 00 215.00 183.00 455. no 242.30 J25, 674.82 The cases on the charge of insanity tried during1 the year number 47.
