Show James L. Hatch James L. Hatch James Leo Hatch, 94, Panguitch, died July 7, 1984, in Salt Lake City. He was born Nov. 17, 1889, Panguitch, to Ira Wilder and Mary Dempster Houston Hatch, He married Delia Lynn Huffaker, June 4, 1919, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Brigham Young Acadmey in Provo. He was a veteran of World War I; served an LDS mission to Japan in 1912; served LDS mission to Michigan in 1923. He served as a member of the Panguitch Ward bishopric in 1924. He had been a member of the Panguitch Stake high council and Panguitch Stake president in 1935 for 16 years. He was then ordained Panguitch Stake patriarch. He operated a ranch with his brothers and father along Mammoth Creek, later independently. He has resided in Salt Lake City the past four years. He was instrumental in organizing Legion Post 25 in Panguitch and was its first commander. He served two terms as Panguitch City Councilman and several terms as a board member for the West Panguitch Irrigation Co. He was selected as senior citizen of the year by ' Panguitch High School students and received the Yule Candle. Survivors: wife, Panguitch; sons, daughters, James Delos, Toronto, Canada; Dr. A. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, with military rites by the Panguitch American Legion Post. lone Barney ESCALANTE Funeral services for lone Elizabeth Shurtz Barney were held Saturday in the Escalante Ward chapel with Bishop Lynn Griffin, officiating. Joe Semones offered the family prayer and Areola Gates played prelude and postlude music. Hal Shurtz gave the invocation. Speakers were John Carl Tuft and Bishop Griffin. Music included ladies trio and vocal duet by Bill and Dawn Griffin. Edson Alvey offered the benediction. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery by Neal S. UREA OBITUARIES v J Samuel W. Crosby Samuel William Crosby, 75, died July 2, 1984, in St. George. He was born Feb. 5, 1909, St. George to Joshua Alma and Lena Albertina Mathis Crosby. Married Mae Dodds, March 17, 1929, Las Vegas, Nevada; she died March 19, 1968. Married Vivian Crosby, 1970. He was a retired Federal government employee for 25 years. Spent most of his life in Bowie, Maryland. Moved to Boulder in 1972 and St. George, in 1983. Survivors: wife, Boulder; sons, Dr Wallace, Chico, Calif.; Dr. David S., Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; Dr. Robert Douglas, Bethseda, Maryland; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Henry G., St. George; Franklin Mathis, San Diego, Calif.; sister, Hannah Elida Hall, Hurricane. Maggie Baker RICHFIELD Funeral services for Maggie Meacham Baker were held Friday in the Richfield Eleventh Ward chapel with Bishop J. David Campbell, presiding and Elder Billy White, conducting. Don Baker offered the family prayer; Nancy Henry Baker played prelude and postlude music and Bruce Oblad offered the invocation. Speakers were Paul Baker, Phillip Lee; tribute by Debi Winder and remarks by Bishop Campbell. Euzell Cottam ESCALANTE May Euzell Roundy Cottam, 81, Escalante, died July 7, 1984, in Parowan. She was born May 9, 1903, Nibley, Ore., to Lorenzo Wesley and Sarah May Moosman Roundy. She was married to Victor Ellis Cottam, Sept. 12, 1920, Escalante; solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He died Oct. 29, 1972. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher for 20 years and as a Primary teacher and Relief Society visiting teacher. Survivors: sons, daughters, Doyle V., Rodney, Mrs. Glover (Beth) Smith, all Escalante; Mrs. Albert (Veryle) Colunga, Grand Junction, Colo.; Delmar R., Mrs. Steve (Dianna Rae) Marthe, both Las Vegas; Allen Kent, Washington; 28 grandchildren; 46 greatgrandchildren; brothers, Emil Lorenzo, Cedar City; Zola Doyle Roundy, Orem. George II. Frandsen George Frandsen George H. Frandsen, 74, Panguitch, died July 9, 1984, at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1909, Elsinore, to George Randalph and Ida Floy Anderson Frandsen. He married Elmina "Allie" Worthen, Sept. 12, 1931, Widtsoe; later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Kearns Eighth Ward high priest group leader. Survivors: wife, Panguitch; sons, daughters, George Clark, Daniel B., Peter Earl, all Panguitch; Mrs. Thomas (Laura Jean) Gray, Kearns; 11 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; brothers, sisters, Larry, Keith, Lawrence, all Panguitch; Mrs. Jean Powers, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Don (Joan) Hilton, Las Vegas. Fullmer, who gave a life story; Raymond S. Whittaker and remarks by Bishop Morgan.
