Show BIRTHS . . . A daughter, to Ted and Dorothy Slater Dibble, Tuesday at the Dr. George A. Anderson hospital. A DINNER WAS GIVEN SUNDAY AFTERNOON by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird at their home complimenting Mr. and Mrs. Ed Williams prior to their leaving on trips to the east and California, respectively.' Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Johnson, John-son, Miss Jane B. Williams of Spanish Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Packard and children. LEGION AUXILIARY JUNIORS WILL BE ORGANIZED at a meeting scheduled for Monday Mon-day evening beginning at 7 p. m., at teh home of Mrs. Inez Chader. All eligible girls are cordially invited in-vited to attend. Those eligible include in-clude girls whose fathers or brothers bro-thers are enrolled with the American Ameri-can Legion. MRS. ELLA CRAND ALL WAS HOSTESS THURSDAY evening to members of the S. T. club at her home. From small tables, a delicious luncheon was servSd early in the evening to sixteen six-teen club members and guests. Attractive At-tractive Hallowe'en favors were employed. Progressive contract bridge featured fea-tured the entertainment, with Mrs. Floss Phillips winning the high score member prize and Mrs. Phil-da Phil-da Finley the guest prize. Other guests included Mrs. Emma Kennedy, Ken-nedy, Mrs. Ellen Anderson, and Mrs. Vera Perham. MARY LOUISE WINGATE WAS HONORED LAST WEEK at the first formal party of the school year held at Carlton hall women's dormitory on the University Univer-sity of Utah campus. The party was formal and honored girls whose birthdays occurred during the past two months. Dancing and bridge were features fea-tures of the party and each girl living at the hall invited a guest. Miss Wingate is a junior at the university and is studying medical technology. A GROUP OF FRIENDS WERE ENTERTAINED by Mrs. Mildred Mendenhall and Mrs. Erma Hjorth at the home of Mrs. John Holley one day last week, during Mrs. Mendenhall's visit here from San Francisco. I A delicious luncheon and social 1 chat were enjoyed, with the following fol-lowing in attendance: Mrs. Mae Miller, Mrs. Marva Taylor, Mrs. Mary Carnesecca, Mrs. Bernice Averett, Mrs. Marie Johnson, Mrs. Beth Bird, Mrs. Naomi Rowan, Mrs. Lois Miller, and Mrs. Ruth Weight. "JEEP" The army has adopted a standard stan-dard light reconnaissance car which will be manufactured by the Willys-Overland company and the Ford Motor company. The Willys company, which developed the "jeep," is turning over "complete drawings, licenses, patents and other manufacturing information without cost" to Ford. o U. S. O. The United Service Organization's Organiza-tion's recreational buildings, to be constructed with money raised in a campaign last summer, are scheduled sche-duled for completion by December 15th. Altogether, 51 contracts have been let with most of the buildings located in the south, where the largest number of troops is concentrated. con-centrated.
