Show OF STEE HE banquet and program recall rapid growth of the organization the growth of the sevier stake primary from baby babyhood hood to maturity was featured ina program ram at a banquet in the tabernacle friday evening in celebration of the anniversary of its organ organization iza guests G at the banquet banque t which was waa given by the sevier stake primary board were general board members here from salt lake for the primary convention friday and saturday the stake boards from north sevier south sevier and panguitch and the superintendents ten dents of the various ward primary associations of the sevier stake the old and new stake presidency and advisory members of the sevier stake high council they were all seated at one long banquet table which held a large birthday cake with 55 candles hand painted place cards made by mrs E C ti ansen with a wild rose motif harmonized with a wild rose motif used in decorating the cake and carried out the primary colors pink carnations peonies snowballs and bridal wreath were placed in bowls at intervals on the banquet table covers were laid for 68 v mrs henry C poulson president presided and mrs bryant young acted as toastmistress lit tle marilyn johnson in ate ate costume came forth to represent the organization in its infancy while her mother mrs stanley johnson sang a lullaby lillian and carma christensen danced the minuet toasts expressing appreciation of all past stake primary presidents recalled the work of the late president Lou lousiana slana heppler the first president who served for 25 years mrs althea hilldale Hill I dall howe the late mrs geo 11 jones mrs A K M hansen and mrs W AL A responses were made by mrs jas M peterson a daughter of mrs heppler who sang two of her mothers favorite songs by mrs orson F christensen a daughter of mrs jones who read from a book echoes of the past written by mrs jones in which she related experiences in the primary and by mrs mrs howe now in salt lake and mrs A K F hansen in provo during the school term had both been invited to the banquet but were unable to attend toasts were also responded to I 1 by the visiting stake primary presidents miss mary carter of south sevier mrs caroline christensen of north sevier and mrs paye faye lynn of panguitch by mrs eleanore 33 thomas mrs edith lambert miss afton young and miss mary R jack of the general board and by the old and new presidency of the sevier stake mrs E C chris alansen read a poem cooperation in response to a toast to all primary associations and the group sang thai th Trail Trall builders song mrs poulson president then cut the birthday cake while the crowd gathered for the banquet they were entertained by the string quartet from monroe |
