W.B.A. meets Monday evening, Feb. 20, at the home of Mrs. Norman Nor-man T. Jacobsen of Copperton for a regular meeting. All members are urged to come out. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Sullenger returned last Friday night from a six weeks' trip to Seattle, Wash., on business. Spending the day and dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carter were their family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Carter and daughters, Christie and Stacey, of Rose Park and Mr. and .Mrs. Rodney Rod-ney Johnson e'-i daughter, Molly, of Midvale, Visitors Monday evening of Mrs. Alice Burke were Mrs. A. J. Baletka of Granger and her brother, John Card kis of Ft. Douglas and his girl friend. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bell had as guests Thursday evening of last week Mr. and Mrs. Martin Prigmore of Magna, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Prig-more Prig-more of Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder Jr. Cards were enjoyed. St. Paul's Methodist Church Woman's Wo-man's Society of Christian Service is holding their regular meeting for this month at the parsonage in Copperton next Wednesday night, Feb. 22. at 7:30 p.m.. Mrs. Hazel I Mills, president, reported. All members mem-bers are urged to attend. WOMEN'S CIVIC CLUB HOLDS ANNIVERSARY FETE B ngham Canyon Women's Civic Club members and their guests gathered for dinner at the Civic Center on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. 64 were in attendance. This annual occasion celebrated the birthday anniversary of the club, founded in 1920, and honored past presidents, Mrs. Sam Feraco, publicity pub-licity chairman, reported. Ten past presidents attended Mrs. Eugene Morris, Mrs. S. J. Granquist, Mrs. Harley Englith, Mrs. Alan Jensen, Mrs. J. Lynn Booth, Mrs. Carl A. Curtis, Mrs. Elmo A. Nelson, Mrs. Glenn Huebner, Mrs. Richard G. Steele and Mrs. R. C. Stevenson. The prayer was given by Mrs. Jensen. Mrs. Marvin Throckmorton, president, welcomed those attending attend-ing and introduced the past presidents, presi-dents, each of whom received a white carnation corsage tied with a red bow. Mrs. Throckmorton introduced and thanked the chairman of the hostesses for the evening, Mrs. Boyd Anderson, and she in turn introduced the as sting hostesses, Mrs. Leonard Bell, Mrs. Ellis Boren, Mrs. Howard Merrill, Miss Connie Mochizuki and Mrs. Rita Ugarte. Members pf the club introduced their guests. The delicious dinner was prepared pre-pared by Mrs. Helen Sullenger end served by Michael Creedon, Paul-ette Paul-ette Dispenza, Stanley Rae ' Sullenger, Sullen-ger, Betty Mae Winn and Betty Zanardi. Valentine colors and motif were carried out in decorations and favors. fa-vors. The white covered U-shaped table centerpieces were large red hearts with white satin ribbon bows and artificial red rose arrangements. arrange-ments. Red paper cupids and hearts decorated the white table covering. Favors at each place were red heart boxes filled with homemade candy. The white birthday cake decorated with red roses and placed on a large red and white ruffled heart centered another small table covered cover-ed with a white cloth. The lovely birthday cake was made by Mrs. Merrill. The cake and two milk glass bowl floral arrangements ar-rangements were draw prize and were won by Mrs. Louis J. Arritola, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Merrill. Mrs. Throckmorton was in charge of the program and introduced intro-duced the participants. Delightful musical features were a dance by Tina Boren, a vocal duet by Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Sorenson, and a musical reading by Mr. Sorenson with Mrs. Sorenson playing the piano accompaniments. Highlighting the evening's entertainment enter-tainment was a fashion show. The costumes displayed were made and modeled by six Bingham High School girls under the direction of Mrs. Mark Jones, home economics teacher, and three members of the Civic Club. The high school girls participating were Yvonne Card-well, Card-well, Nancy Silcox, Tonya Butter-field, Butter-field, Joan Rasmustten, Sharen Denny Den-ny and Annette Dick. The Civic Club members were Mrs. Merrill, Mrs. James Xanthos and Mrs. Mike Zampos. Entrants in th's fashion show were participants in the GFWC Vogue sewing contest, winners win-ners to be eligible for the Central District competition. Judges for the contest were Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Frankel from The Yardstick in Salt Lake City. Contestants entered the room through a large red and white heart frame. Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Bell, both in pretty red dresses opened the frame for each model as she appeared. Mrs. Stevenson placed the spotlights for their entrance. en-trance. Background music on the marimba was played by Michael Carrigan. First prize, a $15 gift cert'ficate from Auerbach's fabric department, was won by Yvonne Cardwell in the high school group and Mrs. Zampos in the Civic Club group. Second prize, a gift certificate for three yards of material from The Yardstick, was won by Annette Dick in the high school group and Mrs. Xanthos in the Civic Club group. The judges announced that all costumes modeled were outstanding out-standing and prize-worthy. MID-FEBRUARY NUPTIALS Married Saturday morning, Feb- . riu.ry II. in a II o'clock nuptial mass at St. Paschal's Church, Lark, were Miss Edelia Lopez and Kudolt Romero Jr. The Rev. John J. Sullivan Sulli-van officiated. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Ben Lopez of Lark. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Ru-dolfo Ru-dolfo Rami io of Midvale, formerly of Bing'.iam Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. joe Romero attended attend-ed the couple as best man and matrrn of honor. Bridesmaids were Lorraine Romero Ro-mero and Berniece Lopez. Ushers were Leroy Komero and Abe Quintana. A reception was held at Immaculate Immac-ulate Conception Church in Copperton Cop-perton in the afternoon followed fcy a dance in the evening at B.C.O. Hall in Binf.ham. The couplu plan to make their Lome in Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Bolman of Copperton just returned from Seattle, Wash., where they went to attend the funeral services for Mr. Bolman's sister, Mrs. Blanche Bolman Bol-man Jones, 65, of Seattle. A former resident of Salt Lake City for many years, Mrs. Jones died Wednesday evening, Feb. 8, in a Rochejter, Minn., hospital of complications following surgery. Mrs. Jones was born March 17, 1895, in Butte, Mont., to Robert and Emma Eihlers Bolman. She was married to Tom E. Jones, Seattle, Wash. He died. Mrs. Jones is alfo survived by two other brothers, Dr. Harold Bolman, Norwalk, Ohio, and Raymond Bol- man, Los Anijeles, Calif. Aluo at- j tending the services in Seattle was Mr. and Mrs. Bolman's son, Robert, who came from Los Angeles. Funeral Fun-eral services and burial were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Acacia Memorial Mem-orial Purk in Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Bolman left last Sunday and returned return-ed Wednesday afternoon. Sammy Dispenza entered St. Mark's Hospital last Monday for treatment end tests and will under; go surgery next Monday morning. A dinner and show in Salt Lake C'.ty last night (Thursday) was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Ronald , Burke of White City, Mrs. Kenneth Moore and Terry and Mrs. Alice Burke. The occasion celebrated Mr. Burke's birthday anniversary. Monday night, the Lihoma group of Bingham Ward Primary held their "daddy date" party at the wardhouse. 27 were present. Games were played and light refreshments were served. The party was under direction of the Primary teachers-Mrs. teachers-Mrs. David M. Dimmick, Mrs. Sam Mullen, Mrs. Shirl Scroggin and Mrs. Arthur Bentley. A delightful time was enjoyed by all. The Fire Auxiliary held a delightful de-lightful pot luck Valentine party last Monday night. A Valentine theme was carried out in decorations. decora-tions. In charge of decorating the hall were Mrs. Ross M. dishing, Mrs. Marin Schultz and Mrs, Verio Kendrick. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Theron Hickman, Mrs. A. O. Jacobson, Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. Verl Peterson. White elephant gifts were also exchanged. Nineteen members were present. Mrs. Jacob-son Jacob-son will be hostess next Monday night. Raymond C. Hunsaker of Co-vina, Co-vina, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bentley, underwent surgery at Veteran's Hospital in Salt Lake City Wednesday of last week and is reported getting along wonderfully wonder-fully well. Sunday Greg Tyson entertained at dinner and a show in Salt Lake City for his daughter, Bobby Lou, Mrs. Alice Burke and Vickie Moore. Bingham Ward Primary held their monthly preparation meeting Tuesday night. Mrs. Jack Householder House-holder Jr. gave the in-service trainer lesson. Light refreshments were served at the close of the .meeting by Mr3. Householder and Mis. Arthur Bentley hostesses for the evening.
