Show To receive scholarship Eric S. Oldroyd of Bountiful has been selected to receive a $500 scholarship for the study of engineering engi-neering by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Education Ed-ucation Foundation. Oldroyd achieved his award through top-level national competition. competi-tion. The NSPE, an organization of more than 75,000 members, receives more than 1,000 applications applica-tions each year from all 50 states plus U.S. territories. A national selection committee, composed of prominent engineers, educators, and industry executives. reviews all the applications and selects the winners. Oldroyd, a 1990 graduate of Bountiful High School, earned his award through his outstanding academic aca-demic record and his extracurricular accomplishments. His successes included representing repre-senting the state of Utah as a national finalist in the annual MATHCOUNTS competition, a nationwide contest for top seventh and eighth grade mathematics students that is sponsored by the NSPE. Oldroyd will attend Brigham Young University this fall. |
