Show Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Campbell returned last midweek from visiting visit-ing relatives and friends in their former home-town of Escalante and attending the Garfield stake L D.s. conference held at that place. The trip was planned for Mr. Campbell to 'visit his two elderly, sisters, Mrs. Sarah Ann Shirts of Escalante, and Mrs. Jane Young of Mackay, rda. Mrs. Shirts js leaving for Shelley, Ida., to reside re-side with her daughter, Mrs. Jane Mitchell. On the return trip, the Campbells visited in Cannonville with their daughter, Mrs. Irving Johnson. a Don't miss that Dixie college Alumni program and dance Thursday Thurs-day evening May 20. Program is free. Dance ticket, 55c. Everyone is cordially 'invited. Mrs. Norman Hunt spent the week end in Salt Lake City to visit with Mr. Hunt who is located .at Fort Douglas. . "Mrs. Ernest ' Langston of Pipe "Valley is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Esplin since Tuesday. Mrs. Bud Seegmiller was hostess Wednesday afternoon to the Bridge Ettes at 'the home of her sister, Mrs. Murray Webb. Honors were shared by Mrs. Robert Pickett and "Mrs. :Elmer. Harmon. Guests were Mrs. Duke Sutton, Mrs. Henry Crosby :ancT'Mrs." Rex Nelson. ' The third year class of the Woodward high school held an informal :party Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pendleton. Games and a program were followed by the serving of light .refreshments. Mrs. Clarence Webb was hostess host-ess at her home last Thursday evening to members of the Three-W Three-W club. Sharing honors in Progressive Prog-ressive Rook were Mrs. Owen Pendleton, Mrs. Hale Pearce and Mrs. Mary R. Bowler. Mrs. Bud Seegmiller and Mrs. Murray Webb and small son spent last week visiting in Las Vegas with their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ellicker and family. Mr. Seegmiller and Mr. Webb joined them last Saturday Sat-urday to spend the day, returning return-ing with them the same evening. Mrs. M. O. Hutchings arrived Tuesday from the Coast to visit with relatives. She is guest while here of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Ashby. The South ward married folk's party for May is scheduled for Saturday evening, May 15, in the recreation hall of the ward chapel. As usual a good program is being planned. Mrs. Idaho Terrill and small son, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Charles Jensen and children, and the two children of Mrs. Lillian von Rydman left Saturday for Salt Lake City. Mrs. Jensen and children to visit for two weeks. Mrs. Clifford Wittwer'and children child-ren came in from Pioche to spend this week visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riding, and with her sister, Mrs. Jerry Hoff who is here from Taft, Calif. . Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Royer arrived ar-rived Tuesday from California to make their home over an indefinite indefi-nite period. Hostesses to the Easy Aces on Wednesday evening was Mrs. Lorraine Lor-raine Cox. Guests were Mrs. Mack Crandall, Mrs. Brown Hail and Mrs. Bud Seegmiller, with honors going to Mrs. James Andrus, Mrs. Reed Mathis and Mrs. CrandalL Mrs. Thomas Bryner left last week to join her husband, Pfc. Thomas Bryner, who is in military training school at Goldshoro, North Carolina. Richard Morris, Pharmicists' Mate, visited in St. George last week end enroute back to . his post at Vallejo, Calif., after visiting visit-ing for a week in Cedar City with his wife and infant son. Pvt. Richard H. Cannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Cannon is now located at the University of California at Los Angeles where he is receiving basic training in an engineering course. He was at Stanford university at Palo Alto prior to this, where he spent several sev-eral weeks. Miss Dorothy Gregerson, who is employed in Salt Lake City, arrived ar-rived last Friday to spend the week visiting with her mother, Mrs. A. W. Gregerson. Mrs. Ruby Eames of New York City, the former Ruby Naegle of Toquerville, visited over the week end in St. George with her aunt, Mrs. Laura Pulsipher, and is spending this week in Las Vegas, with other relatives, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.. Parley Dalley of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Talmage Christen-sen Christen-sen visited in St George last Thursday evening enroute from Glendale, Calif., to Delta, where they are spending the first week of their vacation. They will visit in St. George , next week with Mrs. Christensen's mother, Mrs. Annie M. Webb and other relatives. rela-tives. ' & & & ' Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Higbee and baby were Mother's Day visitors vis-itors of their mother, Mrs. Eva C. Higbee. Mrs. Melville Hirschi came with them and will remain.in St. George for the present. Her husband having completed h i s cadet training in Cedar City, has been transferred to Santa Ana, Calif. ;: Mrs.- Rose Ramsey arrived last Saturday evening from Salt Lake City, accompanied by her son, Ross J. Ramsey and wife, and her daughter Mrs. J. S. Bills of Ogden. They are remaining until Friday to look after the household house-hold affairs of her mother, the late Jane T. Bleak. Mrs. Ramsey has spent the past several months in Grand Junction, Colo., and in Salt Lake City ' and is just recovering re-covering from a recent illness. Several items belonging to her parents are being added to the collection at the McQuarrie Memorial Me-morial hall. Bert Snow of Boulder City was visiting relatives in St. George last week, a guest of his sister, Mrs. Leda S. Hail. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Cummings Gardner and small daughter, Suzanne, returned Tuesday to their homes in Los Angeles after spending the week end here with relatives and assisting as-sisting in entertaining for their brother, Lieut. Myles Waldo Rom-ney Rom-ney and bride. They were accompanied ac-companied to St. George by Miss Ada Gardner who remained to visit for several days. Me M. Wood and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Sandra Hall, spent Mother's Day in St. George with her mother, Mrs. Lottie R. Carter and Miss Ellen Carter. |
