Show DEMOCRATS HOLD COUMI'Efllil A county convention ot the Democratic Demo-cratic party was held in the Courthouse Court-house last Saturday afternoon, D. H. Morris being chairman of the convention conven-tion and Samuel Bringhurst Secretary. Secre-tary. Charles B. Petty of Hurricane received re-ceived the nomination for representative represent-ative in the state legislature. Henry T. Atkin (present chairman of the board of county commissioners) commission-ers) was unanimously indorsed for long term county commissioner, aud James Judd of Hurricane was nominated nom-inated for the short term. Ellis J. Pickett was unanimously nominated for county attorney. The convention expressed approval of C. Clarence Neslin for governor o the state. It was the expression of the convention con-vention that the name of Edw. H. Snow be placed in nomination at the State Convention for Secretary of State. The following were elected delegates dele-gates to attend the congressional convention, the state convention, and the judicial convention, with one-half vote each: Karl N. Snow, Edw. H. Snow, Alvin Allred, James Judd, William Lund, Chas. B. Petty, Ellis J. Pickett, Geo. F. Whitehead, Gordon Whitehead, D. H. Morris, Chas. F. Foster, A. T. Anderson, W. O. Bentley, William A. Whitehead, Alma Nelson, Mrs. Alice Lund, Mrs. Rose Nelson, Miss Julia Foster, A. P. Winsor, Alex Colbath, George Brooks, Jr., Mrs. Edna J. Brink, Miss Lena Nelson, Mrs. Maud Judd, Mrs. C. B. Petty, Miss Alice Milne. The County committed was reorganized, re-organized, as follows: D. H. Morris, chairman; Mrs. Laura Gates, vice-chairman; vice-chairman; Miss Ellen Carter, secretary; secre-tary; William Lund, A. Y. Milne, Gordon Whitehead, Arthur Paxman and William Woodbury, directors. |
