Hale, Jr., Succumbs Suc-cumbs to Malady at Good Springs Nev. Frederick A. Hale, Jr., a former resident resi-dent of this city, aon of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Hale, died yesterday morning morn-ing at Good Springs, Nev. The Immediate Immedi-ate cause of death was pneumonia, superinduced super-induced by Spanish Influenza, an attack of which followed a trip from , Good Springs to Los Angeles, a week ago last Sunday. His wife Is reported to be critically criti-cally 111 of Influenza at the home in Good Springs. His parents and Mrs. E. B. Critchlow, mother of Mrs. Hale, and Dr. J. F. Critchlow, of Salt Lake, were at the bedside of the young man when death came. Mr. Hale was born In Denver, Colo., thirty-one years ago. When he was four years of ago he came to Salt Lake with his parents, his father now being one of the prominent architects of this city. He received his early education In the public schools, after which he became a student at the Leland Stanford university, uni-versity, Palo Alto, Cal., from which he was graduated In 1909. A year later he was graduated from the school of mines Of the University of Utah. The same year he was married to Miss Elizabeth Critchlow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Critchlow. The couple left at once for Good springs, Nev., where Mr. Hale was manager of the Yellow Pine Mining company, com-pany, one tf the largest producers of 2lnc In the west. Mr, Hale was a member of the American Ameri-can Institute of Mining Engineers and of the American Council of Zinc Producers' association. Mr. Hale is survived by his widow and three children, the oldest, six yearf of age. He also leaves a brother, Girard Hale, who Is a member of an ambulance unit until recently in the French service, and now In France. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Thomas B. Hunter, a resident of San Francisco. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made. Owing to the serious illness ill-ness of Mrs. Hale, Jr., It has not been decided whether or not to bring the body to Salt Lake for burial. Announcement will be made later. |
