Because there. was no provision made in the budget this year for health assistants, these students took it upon themselves to see that Mrs. McClellan and Dr. Woodruff received the help they so badly needed. Moss DATE: January 11, 1963 SUBJECT: Employment procedures During the past four years, I have found summer jobs in Washington, D. C. for hundreds of Utah college students. If you would like to work in Washington this summer, wall you please help me to help you. First: Check the bulletin board at a first class post office for pending Civil Service examinations for which you may be qualified. Immediately CLEAN YOUR OYN FINGER and Dr. Woodhave ruff expressed extreme appreciation for the work these students are doing. They are so pleased to see this all being done on a volunteer basis. Second: When your notice of rating is received from the Civil Service Commission, send me a photo copy along with several completed copies of the Federal Employment Application Form 57 (which you may obtain from the local Civil Service or Post Office). Be sure to specify the approximate date of arrival and the number of weeks you want to work. If you already have a Civil Service rating, send me a copy with your completed Form 57. I can place you readily. Third: There are other jobs in private industry in Washington, and I will help on these, too. Government work is almost entirely under Civil Service ;private industry, of course, is not. Let me assure you I welcome the opportunity to assist you. When you visit Washington, my door is always open, and I shall look forward to the pleasure of meeting you. Some drive their cars to pick up drugs or take an injured or ill person to the hospital. Others do chores in the health center such as fil-- ' ing, straightening up, and cleaning equipment. They have also been interested in such projects as the blood bank, physical exams, choir flu shot clinics, and the T.B. clinic.
