Show i December H, The PARSON Page 4 Eastern Montana Downs Parsons In last weekends action the Parsons, who played at Billings, Montana, dropped two games to a taller Eastern Montana team. The Parson, aready undersized, were submitted to an even greater disadvantage as Gary Bliss, the Parsons tallest, suffered a sprained ankle three-fourth- s way through the first game. The Westminster crew was playing without faithful Ray Gibbons, who did not survive the practice session before the games. With Bliss playing most of the first game the Parsons managed to get few rebounds hut matched Montana by hitting about 50 of their shots. However .Montana got more tries. tries at the basket, scorer was Adams high Jerry 71-5- 0 Westminster with 18 points in the first game. Bliss was good for 16 points folfor t , lowed closely by consistent Jim Morris 15. Final score: Eastern Montana I CO. The second night was nearly a nightmare as the Westminster five was as cold as any team could ever dream of being. They scored only four baskets in 35 attempts in the first half. VARSITY BASKETBALL The Parsons won both home games against Western Montana to climax the different" Westminster Homecoming festivities held on December 1. Fayne Gymnasium saw a capacity crowd to watch the game on Saturday night. Gary Bliss captured scoring honors in the first game by scoring 21 points and Jim Morris, the stocky" forward, won scoring honors on Saturday night with 21 points. Westminster had some trouble the first night both shooting and holding onto the ball, but the second night they seemed to have better control and had less trouble in winning the second game. At the half in the first game the Western Montana team had a modest lead but the Parsons managed to rescue the game midway through the second half. Westminster will be entertaining Nebraska Wesleyan on Highlands larger court. Nebraska was one of the top small college teams in the nation last season and the team is still carrying last years strength. Monday the team hosts 'Regis College of Denver, also one of the finer small college teams, at the Highland gymnasium.
