Under the able tutorage of Mr. Strum, the efficient nucleus of returning students hopes for a swelling of membership from the increased student body at Westminster College. State Department Speaker The major campus event of the fall for the Political Science Club is the Regional meeting of the Intermountain International Relations Clubs. The delegates from over 50 schools in the Intermountain region will discuss the Political Explosion in Africa. Among the many noted speakers who will address toe assembled representatives is Mr. James Green, former Ambassador to the Congo for the United States. Mr. Green has had vast experience in the field of relations, and is now special advisor to the United Nations for African Affairs. Howerton A Short Head Cheerleader Betty Anne Short is head cheerleader. She Is from Denver, Colorado (15 Rahs). This is Bettys sophomore year at Westminster and her major is elementary education. , Sherry (xy) Martin is of the Iowa type. Palla, Iowa, to be exact She represents the greatest number of years as a cheerleader for Westminster having begun her freshman year and still being on the job this, her Junior year, Sherrys major is History and Secondary Edu- cation. Zanna Denet (no relation to Stephen Vincent) is from Kearns Canyon, Arizona. This is Zannas Junior year at Westminster and her second year as a cheerleader here. She expects to be a teacher of Physical Education. Joe Wigfall (the cute one on the end we spoke of) hails from El Paso Heights, California. Joy is a Junior cies at the same time. The examination is being offered six times durschool year in all ing the 1960-6- 1 college cities. Civil Service Commission officials emphasized that students who take the examination early during the school year will have the best opportunities for appointments following graduation. Those who apply by Sept. 29, 1960 will be tested on Oct 15. Those who apply between Sept 29 and Nov. 3 will take the test on Nov. 19. The examination will also be offered in January, February, April, and May. Home Town Girl Judy Nillson (our only home town girl) is a citizen of this fair' city and a Sophomore this year. She also plans to demonstrate to the youth of tomorrow the value of being educated by assisting them in their fair share of Music And English. This is Judys first year as a cheerleader. First Year Cheerleader Judy Cressanty of Burbank, California (no its not near Fort Ord) is a first year cheerleader but, she has been seen around Westminster before. She is in her sophomore year of a curriculum leading to the occupational title of physical therapist That means she takes -one big bunch of biology.
