Even if I did, I figure it would be cheaper to pay the doc when (and if) I have a bill rather than spend all that money buying apples to keep him away to no avail In these days of declining individualism, it may interest you to know that American Doctors habits, tastes, and interests arent like those of most other Americans. Just how different are they? Well, quite different . . . For example . . . AS WORKERS . . . More than 75 per cent of active physicians . . . (Only 10 are e American of all cent per The workers are M. STYLES ARE, THE WOMEN WHO ARE THE FIRST TO WEAR THEM ARE USUALLY THE ONES WHO SHOULDNT. AS PEOPLE . . . The average physician stands 5 10, while the average American male stands a mere 5 9 . . . Well, imagine that. And did you know that doctors, on the average, weigh 170 pounds . . . (The typical American male weighs in at a shrimpy 158). Fifty per cent of U. S. physicians have been on a diet at one time or another . . (Only 17 per cent of American males have I wonder if Dan Val entine fits into this Dracket) . . Thats a hard one to figure, considering todays living costs. An average M. D. sleeps seven hours a night . . . (And the average male dwelling is usually worth )era-;atl- A Campus-to-Care- er ... ment. They usually have three children. All the average family can afford is one or two . . . AN OUNCE OF OIL CAN BE SPREAD IN A FILM COVERING EIGHT ACRES. Physicians most often complain about their wives extravagances . . . Other American males most often complain about their wives bad tempers . . . There, I must disagree. All husbands know that wives dont have bad tempers . . . Take the case of David C. Karlen, for example. Dave was hired by the New York Tele- phone Company right after graduation in June, 1954. For seven months he received rotational training to familiarize him with the various departments of the company. Then Uncle Sam borrowed him for 25 months. He returned in February, 1957, and completed his training. In June, he was made Traffic Superintendent of some small telephone exchanges outside Utica. GIVE THE AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS TWO YEARS AND YOULL HAVE TO BE BORN IN AN AUTOMOBILE TO GET INTO IT AT ALL . . . AS CITIZENS . . . Fifty-si- x per cent of doctors call themselves Republicans . . . (Only 33 per cent of all U. S. voters do) . . . The way the voting went this year Ill bet a lot of doctors will be changing to Democrats rightaway. Ninety-seve- n per cent of physicians cast ballots in a recent Presidential election . . . (Only 63 per cent of all eligible voters did so). About 20 per cent of physicians have sought public office . . . (Only 6 per cent of all American males have done so). The typical physician and family gave $250 to his church in one recent year . . . (Typical U. S. church member and family gave an estimated $143) . . . With todays prices, the average family is lucky to scrape that much together . . But putting all kidding aside, doctors are wonderful to have around arent they . . .
