Adrenaline pumping through your veins as you dip downward and are suddenly plunged into a mountain of white water. The exuberance of victory as you rise from your watery grave still on top of the raft. This is white water rafting, and this is what I did as a job last summer. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a paradise for the adventure driven, and a haven for the college student looking to make a few extra bucks for the summer. Enter Lone Eagle Resort, a resort in Jackson where college students from all over come to experience the West and make a few dollars on the side. Picture this: a fully serviced resort on 15 acres, complete with RV hookups, cabins, tent cabins, deluxe guest houses, and a large grassy tenting area down by the river. For activities theres a swimming pool, two large hot tubs, an outdoor basketball area, sand volleyball court, horseshoe area, and stables that offer horseback rides into the adjoining National Forest. A plethora of things Bridger-Teto- n to do, and thats just at the resort. If rafting is your thing, then Lone Eagle is your ticket. With five white water and two scenic trips on the Snake River leaving daily, youll certainly have your fill. Now the great opportunity all this creates for students like you and me, is summer one-of-a-ki- nd staffing areas and will occasionally be pulled to help out on the river as needed.
