The Freezz, who play in the WISL (World Indoor Soccer League), schedule, which play a enas on November 15. Jim Davis, who was signed by the Freezz on July 5 of this year, is playing in his first professional season. A native of Utah, Davis played high school soccer at Taylorsville before attending Westminster. Davis, now 28, is a midfielder for the Freezz and wears number three. Brock Varoz signed with the team the same time as Davis. Also bom and raised in Utah, Varoz attended Olympus High School before playing at Westminster, varoz, 30, is enjoying his second stint as a professional soccer player in Utah. The WISL owners are working to give the league an international angle by scheduling exhibition games with teams such as the El Salvador Futbol Rapido, the Brazilian National Indoor team, and Team Mexico. The Freezz are coached by Dave Poggi, who led the Lafayette Swampcats of the Eastern Soccer League to back-to-bachampionships the last two seasons. Poggi has 14 years of collegiate soccer coaching experience compiling a record of with Northwest Missouri State and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Attendance has been good for the Freezz so far. Their home opener against El Salvador drew a crowd of 8,808 and they have averaged 6,694 through 8 home games. Halfway through their first season the Freezz have a record of which puts them just one game behind first place Monterrey La Raza. Weight room monitor, Jorge Rojas, said, "I think the remodel is good, but I wish we didn't have the new rubber free weights." When asked if he felt the new equipment catered specifically to female tastes, Rojas responded, "Just a little bit, but also to basketball players. Overall, it's good for everybody." Sophomore Nola Giacoletto also enjoys the new machines. "It's great for me, I think the new cardio machines are definitely better." Another weight room monitor, Todd Hevner, calls the weight room, "a beautiful place."
