"Take One Act Gender continued from page 6 Men don't seem to notice as much; I have witnessed my dad walk through the house after work and not notice that my mother has wallpapered. We give more thought to individual situations, conflicts, and emotions than a man probably gives to any situation in his entire life span. The exception to the rule is a man';s "dreams." A lot of men dream of fast cars, Harleys, money and most other expensive toys; almost all of us women dream of families, careers, houses, and that true love. Quite often women feel that time is ticking to achieve these dreams and men feel they have all the time in the world to achieve the female dream, that is. When we look at the differences in this way, it is common to find much of it humorous because we get so caught up in the trials of daily living that we never stop to think about the uniqueness of our own gender. And I wonder how many of you stop to question why we are so different? Could it be because we fit together better? -- Women and men keep each other centered and realistic. Men should give to women and women should give to men. Neither gender should be dominant; both should realize what the other brings to the workplace, relationship, or political arena. Possibly, women teach men to slow down momentarily and take notice of details and men teach women how not to hold too much value in everyday endeavors the house cleaning will be there tomorrow. In the process of pulling a man down from his fancy dreams ana unusual priorities, maybe they pull us up a little and we even help each other out. The relationship between man and woman allows for otherwise unthinkable opportunities two very different mindspersonalities create a better plan. And it gives a man the chance to feel the tenderness we share amongst the female gender; it gives the women the chance to explore the male domain and their idea of free will. "Still Love" was creatively arranged and its many scenes of silent gestures struck a nerve in anyone who has ever ended a relationship with someone they cared about. Low lighting and lots of quiet did well to portray the loss the characters felt. Westminster's One Act Play Festival was , both entertaining and thought provoking. Each student directed play showed amazing skill and creativity. The variety of emotions conveyed by the plays put next to each other in the festival were so well done they are capable of giving students mood disorders of their own. classes are over the section cap, and 148 have more than twenty students enrolled in them. Interestingly enough, the students and printouts report these overloaded classes in many different areas and fields. The class size problem is not contained within one school or major. Some accounting, communication, humanity, English, biology, business and otehr classes as well have been reported as being too big. Senior Jaimie Van Norman said, "Class sizes separates Westminster College from other places. If you let that slide, you aren't changing for the better. When teachers have too many students, they can't help everyone, and more students will fall through the cracks and drop out. They might as well save money and go to Salt Lake Community College or the University of Utah if they aren't getting the attention that they need." Many students making the choice to come to and continue their education at Westminster do so because of the small classes and the personal attention they can receive from their professors.
