The plays ranged from comedy, to drama, to campy satire. Utah Shorts provided enjoyable entertainment, offering something for everyone. Anne De Long, the only Westminster student in theproduction, gave commendable performances in two of the plays. The first, Cleaning the Box, by David Langton, told the story of a young woman who leaves her lover after he refuses to clean the litter box. This, topped by the fact that he is having an affair, causes her to seek the comfort of an old friend. De Long also The played the wife in Torvald & Nora Next Day, by N. Barry Carver, a satire based on Ibsens A Dolls House. The actors worked well together considering the different levels of experience and the different calibers of scripts. The 10-min- 6-- most noteworthy performances came from Bobbi Fouts, who recently appeared in the Westminster Players production of Woman in Mind. Fouts starred in four of the plays, including the hilarious Exoercising the Dog, by Max Adams, and the fantastic Barbra & Seville, by Davison Cheney. The aforementioned plays, as well as Does Anyone Pray When Theyre Happy, by Jean Roberts and Expectations, by Westminsters technical director, B.K. d and directed. The Cafe, by Richard Jewkes, was bland and unmoving, and even Fouts talents could not save the dreadfully-du- ll The Question, by Joanne Lither. Rech Marks Halfway Point In Presidency Security Report KennaHaas Forum Staff Writer The following is a list of incidents which occurred on campus between Dec. 16, Whatbelter time than right now, half- 1993, and Jan. 20, 1994. 1993. SLPD was notified, at which time it was determined that the vehicle was sto- way through the school year, to ask AS WC president John Rech how he feels about his elected position? What campaign goals has he achieved and which ones are still on his list? Rech worked in Student Services as before he decided to run for a work-stud- y office. It was there, in those humble beginnings, that Rech said he began to notice how uninvolved Westminster students are in many school events. This discovery not only disappointed Rech, but it made him want to take action. He felt that participating in student government would give him a chance to get students more involved in school events. Little did he know, its not all that easy. Rech says he is slowly starting to see more student and faculty involvement in events, but says we have a long way to go. His main priority at this time is to get a student on the Board of Trustees. He says the students really need someone on the Board to represent their interests. As for the student senate this year, he is very pleased. He says that the wide diversity of students in the senate provides many points of view. He also says the senators are very active and genuinely care about what goes on. One quality Rech possesses which he feels helps him out as president is his youthful appearance. Rech says younger students find him more approachable. Some of the barriers are broken down because I appear on the younger side. But, believe it or not, Rech is 30. ) ip len. Once you are inside, lock your door immediately. photo by Paul Jones ASWC President John Rech feels he is meeting his campaign promises, but he still has a way to go. Rech wants students to feel comon campus. He thinks that increasing the amount of quality study areas may achieve this. Rech is very anxious about the remodeling of the Shaw Center because it will provide better lighting and fortable tablesforstudentstostudy. Students wont feel pushed off campus in order to study, according to Rech, and perhaps they will get more involved in school events. ASWC J.C. Porter says that Rech has encouraged all members of the AS WC to do their best and that Rech is very committed to office. Mike Santarosa, who woiks in says, John doesntputhim- vice-preside- nt Too self on a pedestal. He is willing to represent all students and he is very approachable. He is also very humble. He claims he hasnt really made a big difference at Westminster, but that everyone works well together including the faculty and staff. However, Rech does admit that regardless of the amount of time he physically spends in his office, Its always on my mind.
