Don't Go Into Nursing The nurses shown here, comparing notes are, left to right, Lona Simmons, Karyn Gill, Diane White, Gileen Johnson, and Kathy Adams. We believe that it is about time the nurses were given some notice in this paper. This group of 17 girls carry about 24 hrs. of classes each week, plus lab classes which vary in hours. They are up at 6:30 every morning, if not earlier, to begin their day. They have study hall from 7:30 to 9 pan. every week night. The dorm is closed at ten for these Freshmen with lights out at 10:30 p.m. Starting at 4 p.m. each day, the housemother sits at the desk in the front hall to make sure all rules are kept. These girls are required to keep their rooms clean at all times. Room inspection is never announced, it is just carried out. With all their work and studies they find time to put on dances, dinners and have a basketball and softball team. Wed like to wish them luck or maybe strength and be the first to congraulate them. Midge is a member of the Methodist church in her home town, Denver. Then, comes the time of reckoning. We all promise ourselves to do better next time, but few of us do. Mid-Ter- m With the 'Jeans' At first, I thought the blond haired girl was a new student. As I drew nearer however, I realized that it was none other than Midge Brazelton. But, she was wearing a skirt, instead of jeans. This was not the first time Midge had not been recognized because of wearing a skirt. Her most embarassing moment was when the dean did not know her dressed in a skirt in place of jeans. Marilyn Ruth (Midge) Brazelton was bom on May 17, 1938, in Denver, Colorado. She, of course, was not born wearing jeans, but discovered them at an early age and has worn them whenever possible since that time. , Last year, after graduating from South High School in Denver, Midge invaded Westminsters campus with a ready smile and great enthusiasm for girls basketball. She is planning to enter the field of Physiotheraphy and is a physical education major. She has gained much of her knowledge along these lines from her favorite professor, Mrs. Garrison.
