Fourth Annual Mardi Gras The fourth annual Mardi Gras of Westminster College, sponsored by the Sigma Pi Alpha, has been set for March 4, in Payne Gymnasium, according to William Beilke, president of the organization. Besides the traditional events, the Mardi Gras will sponsor a baby contest this year. All babies under two years old of the students and faculty and alumrii of the college are eligible for entry. Both babies and crowd are in for a howling good time. Listen, wratch for announcements. The plan now is that for tickets purchased during sale of tickets before March 4th and at the carnival from 8 to 9, votes will some bull Westminster has ever be accepted for your favorite fu- ture student of Westriiinster College. French, Spanish and German classes will' sponsor tlieir wbal booths. Booths for oke, confetti, balloons, etc., will mrtset up. As a reminder some booths still need sponsors, so if any group wishes to sponsor a section, please get in touch with Charles Berrett or William Beilke at once. We are planning a bigger and better floor show this year and as an added feature we shall hold the final balloting in the Baby Contest. Remember we need some real competition. To you new students it might be told that we always have good old King Monus and his queen reign over the festivities. King Monus is not announced until the night of Mardi Gras and the lucky winner of the title is always as surprised as the audience. The Mardi Gras is a very delightful and entertaining party, but it has a real purpose, as the money made is used for the purpose of providing a scholarship for a Westminster College student. Remember one more thing ! This is a costume affair and if youre flush you can rent a snappy outfit but also a little ingenuity and time will produce a costume! Try either method and if you still don t have a costuiiie by Mardi Gras, come anyways dont let lack of a costume keep vou awav. Well see vou at Mar- di Gras. (All requisitions for material should be in to Vince Bradley by February 16th). - |
