Vi cent cheaper on the west coast and V4 cent cheaper on the east coast The company blamed lagging zinc demand for the action. The new price, which was immediately adopted by other sellers did not attract many buyers, according .to market observers, because foreign zinc was being offered at 10 cents a pound. New York. Meanwhile copper sales continued good at the domestic price of 29 to 30 cents a pound and lead was in good demand in domestic and European markets. Copper Revere Copper and Brass announced its schedule of prices on all fabricated products is predicated on the domestic producers copper price of 30c. a pound and current prices for zinc, tin, lead and other alloying elemehts. This move is expected to result in a general reduction by all' fabricators in brass prices. For some months past, prices on fabricated products were based on 32.6c. a pound for copper, an average that took into consideration higher-price- d Chilean copper. Fabricators have been in a position to satisfy their needs with 30c. copper. In fact, custom smelters have been sellers at 29c. Valley. Lead Demand for lead was modert ately active, and, with the European market doing nicely, the undertone everywhere was steady. Sales in the domestic market for the week ended yesterday totaled 6,214 tons, which compares with 11,592 tons in the preceding week Smelters are not reaching for scrap.
